times were much simpler then.... no one can complain about the passiveness of Pac Man or Tetris...

I remember playing some sort of Smurf game on the Atari. It was a side scroller. Dear god, I was three or four when I played that. That was twenty years ago. hahaha

I remember thinking pong was the coolest game EVER!

I never imagined we would be playing 3-d RPG games only a few years later.

Kinda makes you wonder what it's gonna be like in 15 years ... :D

I was so please when I found out my phone had pong.
Then sooo pissed cos the phone was so crap it made the game really shit.

There were other games I spent so long playing like E-Type (for the Archimedes), Repton, Starship Command (on the Electron) and Frak. That and Bug-Hunter (for the Arch). They used to be way cool.

Atari is awesome! We still have one somewhere, but it might need to be fixed... again.

Agreed with you on this subject.
And I am glad some people here mentioned Pong. I also grew up in the era were Pong was the most technically sophisticated game ever. More than that even.

Atari - also made Star Wars - the new one is fkn excellent but the old vector one of the 80's had stereo sound behind your head and was 10p a go (uk) and a mechanic used to go in every saturday morning and tune up the handset control thingmyjig and if ever I had to go to the job centre I'd make sure I beat the top high score before leaving.I've got it on MAME but somehow its not the same as being down in the arcades in Brighton
