Hello. I need the most awesome websites on the benefits of Vegetarian diets.I would like some reputable proof, from real doctors on this diet. I need good facts, and something to show my close minded dad that a vegetarian can live a healthy happy life just like any omnivore.

    Thanks

well along with the 'good' i think you need th 'bad' so .. this is something i read the other day..

    http://homodiet.netfirms.com/otherssay/vegetarianism.htm

I probably have the worst vegie diet imaginable..but apart from feeling a little down sometimes ...i am perfectly fit and healthy. So i did not take a lot of notice to what the link said ( the health part)... i might be lucky .. But i have been to my doctors and he says i am fine...so. anyway take a look at the link , what do you think.

I'm all for doing ur research and looking at issues from all angles... but I read that article a while ago and I still think it's sounds suspiciously right wing to me. The guy writes for an australian health magazine... and aussies aren't exactly reknowned for their fantastic diets. Man... he even looks like a meat-eater!

edit: I also just noticed.. on his website www.powerhealth.net there's a picture of him on every single page! lol...

it never changed my mind..its just gives me (personaly) a bit of perspective.. it can not be all rubbish ... and 'we' can not be all right . baring that in mind it just comes down to personal choice..i am maybe a bit right wing then because i realise that vegeterianism would not be a good idea for all ... their needs to be a balance of meat eaters and vegies ... i guess 'we' should not take over.

This whole perspective thing seems slightly bizzare to me.

In discussions on racism, must we consider the views of KKK. Are pervets allowed equal respect when child abuse is discussed.
    Of course not.

To me it discussing whether or not to be vegetarian is almost like discussing whether to jump from a plane without a parachute. One side's argument is obviously superoir to that of the other.

If you read the link i gave
    http://homodiet.netfirms.com/otherssay/vegetarianism.htm

Had some myth busting points... prove him wrong , and i will dismiss his thoughts immediatly.

I am a veggie because i care a about animal welfare healthy choices and so on.
but you have to climb down off the high horse and see it from another point of view . And accept that 'we' are not always right.
