I went shopping with my mom today. She wanted to buy my dad some new tools and needed my help. So we were looking at wire cutters and such when this know it all sales clerk came up to us. In fact he looked at us and laughed and said that he figured two beautiful women would need his help. Fuckin' knuckle dragger! Anyways my mom asked him if he could tell her the difference in the wire cutters.....to make a long story short - no he couldn't. I told my mom which one to get (the cheaper one - and the one my dad would use more) and the jackass gave me an evil look. When we later walked by to check out I heard him say, "Yeah that's the ****, I bet she's a dyke. Just look at her...." I didn't hear the rest, but . I guess it hurt his ego that I knew more about the stuff my mom was buying than he did.
it's not too late to talk to the store manager. saying something like that about a customer - PARTICULARLY - within earshot, should almost definitely be grounds for termination. he might get by with a warning if no customers heard it, but seeing as customers heard it, including the customer he was talking about, he should almost surely lose his job. hows that for getting him back? its inexcusable. if he starts out demeaning and it only goes downhill from there, he has no business dealing with the public.
What an asshole that guy is. What a loser. One of my profs just told us that she was in Sears looking at wheelbarrows and the salesman told her that the wheelbarrow was too big for her and she wouldn't be able to push it. She was so pissed at him for implying that she was too weak.
Why would you want to get the guy fired If every prick in the world lost his job, the unemployment rate would skyrocket. Hotwater
I would have wanted to get him fired, I'm evil actually i have the sharpest tongue in the world, i would have made him cry
I totally would want to get him fired. If some jerk called me a **** I would get revenge... although it might be more subtle than getting him fired. But I am proud of you for showing him that you know more than him.
Well the word **** doesn't bother me - my friend Mark uses it as a pet name for me. I just thought it was funny - the only part that irritated me was when he laughed because he thought two women wouldn't know what to buy. He should've just beaten on his chest and grunted.
who fucking cares, he should do his job properly if he wishes to keep it anyway, they are already starving to death if they depend on his 7 dollar an hour job i still like the idea of making him cry best though
not evil at all. assholes deserve to have jobs just like anyone else -generally- but if they're assholes to the people they're supposed to serve then no, they shouldnt have THAT job. i wouldn't feel the least bit bad for getting someone canned if they're insulting customers in such a vulgar manner within earshot. not only was his ability to do his job and actually help a customer form an educated opinion on the merchandise lacking, he was rude to them right off the bat by insinuating women were incapable of knowing anything about tools. then not only did he complain about the customers, he did it in such inexcusably vulgar terms, on the floor, and, as i said, within earshot. complaints about customers and occasional negative attitudes occur frequently in retail situations and are expected, but if you value your job then some level of discretion should be exercised. he shouldnt be fired for being a jerk or narrow minded, he should be fired for being utterly incompetant and inexcusably vulgar and negative towards a customer when the customer is still there. in my book some level of retaliation is justifiable in this situation. i see two options that would have been present at that moment, both gratifying: either bloody his nose or raise hell with the management. if she physically assaulted him, whether its justifiable or not its still not legal and she could at very least get in some level of trouble herself, so even if it would be gratifying it wouldnt be the BEST choice...and the time where lashing out like that has passed and it would not be the least bit acceptable now. but she can still take issue with the management (and if it were a chain store and it were me in that situation i'd go straight to the district manager {edit: i see it was sears. i'd definitely go to the d.m.} to avoid a sympathetic asshole store manager) and get this resolved. the person in question has no place dealing with the public if this is his attitude towards customer service.
Who are you? A wuss? He would deserve it. I don't talk crap about people that come into Chevron and these are people that deserve to have shit said about them, but I think it's inappropriate at the workplace.
