i think now i realize i should have looked more for "change of place" kinds of places to go i chose to go close to home...i don't even go home that much... i think i want to transfer....away, i haven't thought it much through yet, obviously but i sort of want to go away from here, out of this state obviously this would mean higher tuition cost, i realize this, and i'd still have to try and figure out where, so i could figure out which credits would transfer... but...that's what i'm thinkin'....thought i'd share that...or something...=/
I would look into private out of state schools. They tend to be relatively the same cost as a out of state University but yet give out a lot more funding. I transfered because of the same reason-too close to home. I'm still less than 4 hours from home but it seems a world away. It's nice that way sometimes-sometimes not so much. Good luck with whatever you decide.
I'm looking into colleges in the Asheville area... though, Warren Wilson is humorously expensive for out of staters. VA Tech is too crowded, though I know a million people there. And.. Well, I'd really like to go to college somewhere in mountains. I wish I could go to Vermont or somewhere. If it made a world of difference, I'd take up a change of residence and become a resident of that state to find a better place/school.
I only live 30 minutes from home... but I would love to transfer far away too. I think it would be nice to get away from the state for awhile and be on your own. I would love that.
yea, i'm gonna be really thinking of transfering. the school i'm at, just isn't what it used to be. and after this coming spring semester, the majority of my close friends will be gone. right now, i'm only 2 1/2 to 3 hours away. who knows, i might end up on the other side of the country if i transfer...
The California College system rocks and it's one of the least expensive in the nation, but is the most reputable for state schools, our csu and uc systems are really well praised. I go to SDSU right now and hate it but my school i am graduating from is CSUSM and it is a really great school and has every major you can think of and job placement in your last semester for buisness majors...which makes me wish I majored in buisness ): Everyone needs a change of pace though...if I didn't live here I would pick somewhere warm and fun and sunny to go to school
man, either one of these colleges would be awesome to transfer to The Evergreen State College or Reed College
I've been looking at Evergreen State for a couple years now. I had that in mind before WW. Into Thin Air said alot for me. I read one of Krakauer's other's, but I don't recall the name. I started reading his stuff a few years ago when Into Thin Air came out. My lit teacher really got me into him again.
yeah, i asked about him implying Into the Wild, which is a great book, i need to read more by him i think i would like to go to oregon or washington state just go all the way across country
Look into Santa Fe, or someplace out in the southwest. I imagine you'd be very happy there, doin' your religion thang. I hope it all goes well for ya, though. I understand the transfering idea. SO many people I know who go to Wilmington want to transfer. It seems to be one of those schools that's just a little pitstop on the long, strange trip, ya know?
Oregon is a great place, and I don't think I'd ever want to live anywhere else!! You might want to look at SOU as well. It's located in the town of Ashland which is an awesome place Plus the dorms at SOU are pretty nice; my dad designed the newer dorms.
bro, I'm in the same boat, but I'm so close to getting my degree that it would be a bad thing to transfer, so I'm moving out into my own place on Jan 2. Do what you feel is right. Good luck bro!
