Now McDonalds is quite a journey for me to get to. I have to travel down the highway either to Munich or to Innsbruck to get to McDonalds on the highway. Now I used to like McDonalds but I'm definitely more into KFC at the moment and anyway, went down the highway all for a meal that left me feeling pretty shitty and for the first time in my life I didn't really enjoy it. I know our menus differ, but even the quaterpounder doesn't taste good anymore. So my new years resolution is to not eat as much shitty food. =D Cause it's a pain in the ass to go work it off.
The longer you stay away from that shit, the less you crave it. There is no doubt that fast food is addictive. I won't deny that I still get the craving for a Big Mac every now and then. KFC sure tastes good, but it leaves you feeling like absolute shit afterwards. The amount of grease is just nasty. Plus when I see some of the people who go in and out of fast food restaurants, it acts as sort of a deterrent. It sure is true that you are what you eat. If you eat shit food, eventually you're going to look like shit.
Try the McVeggie burger every now and again... and ask them not to put salt on your fries. Is there a popular German fast-food chain?
I used to love Mcdonalds as a kid.. now the thought of it makes my stomach turn.... It gave me food poisoning about aged 13
There's a couple of German fast food chains but they're just really bad Italian food or seafood or sausage which is much better bought from a butcher than cooked at those stores. From all my traveling, we are pretty healthy here in Germany. When you go to places like Sydney in Australia, I'm assuming this is the same in the states, you see food chains on every corner, same stores merely seperated by 50 meters and there's hundreds in a city. In Germany, there's only a handful and to be honest the Germans really aren't at all interested in them. They're mainly on the highway for tourists I suppose. Personally I like the highway truck stops. It was just an out of the blue deal yesterday, and one heck of a bike ride up the alps this morning to rid the shit too. >.>
CNGRATULATIONS!! noone should eat this shhi! i feel so bad for small kids when theyre parents taking them to those kind of restaurants or instead of cooking them healthy fresh food at home..its sad this food is poison for our bodys..
I hate mcdonalds , i used to love it, i probably havent had a mcdonalds in about 3 years.. Hate KFC, ever since i got a nasty one ugghhh... But the gravy is still nice Dont get me wrong, i still like fast food, from my local chippers etc.. But mcdonalds and kfc are just a no no for me now
yes eat well, whole foods in season(seasonal food is a whole lot kinder)you wont have anything to work off then
My sister has a 18 month year old baby girl in Australia and my father isn't happy with what she eats. Basically it's like you have stated, she takes them to fast food stores all the time and daddy says she scoffs down chips and chicken but "it's okay because she takes the skin of the chicken" is my sisters excuse. lol. And she's put on heaps of weight apparently too and really upset she can't lose it but daddy says they eat crap all the time. =\
You know what else, every time I make my own burger, be it beef or chicken, I make it 100x better than stores do. So... I'm just gonna do that from now on. =)
i rarely ever been to mcdonalds...maybe 25 times in my life probably 20 of those was just the last few years i stopped there last week though and really like what i got ...i ordered a mcbistro chicken sandwich...the southwest grilled one
*chuckle* I just did a little bit of research, and the first couple of German fast food outlets were Italian food and Seafood...'Nordsee' 'Vapiano' - both seem a little more sophisticated than McDonald's (admittedly not a very hard feat to achieve). I doubt either would work that well here. There are a fair few McDonald's were I live - one just near the bus stop on my way to work. It's tempting to pop in more often than I would like to - but I convince myself the Veggie burgers are good for me. I'm so glad I don't eat meat any more - I'd definitely be a fat pig by now. When I went to German I didn't see many McDonald's. Granted it was only a brief stop over - but yeah, I definitely got the impression it was there for the tourists. It also felt like to work there was an even lower a prestige to work there than it is here.
Nutrition + time + good ingredients > bad food served fast. =p I remember a sign at a takeaway in Australia that read "we don't sell fast food, we sell good food fast" and I remember thinking oh you do fucking not! That store got me addicted to them devils hot n spicy chicken chips. Something I can't find in this town. There so good deep fried but almost better frozen. >.>
Thats what im trying to do for the new year as well, eliminate fast food almost completely. Ive already started eating healthier. but soooo many fast food places errrrrrwheeereee
: / I've never quite decided if McDonald s are nutritionaly bankrupt and cooking your own food is a lot better (if you were to cook the same thing). Surely there can't be much in it. McDonald s is evil though, right? You have to put that in a McDonald s too.
Well you can cook the meat healthier yourself. If you make your own patties you can drastically increase the healthiness. Not frying helps. Chips in the oven better than fries in oil. Also healthier sauces can be added. You can buy proper bread that isn't laced with sugar. I'd say that making it yourself if you know what you're doing can be quite a bit healthier.
