This morning I woke up and just wanted to hold Alexis so bad. I started thinking about scheduling a C-Section soon just to hold her.
Haha....NO :p , I won't do it (I know she needs ALL the time she can get in me)....I'm just so anxious and excited that she's getting closer and closer to being here. I just want these next few months to hurry up so I can hold my baby. :D
Does that make me a bad person or is that a totally normal thing?

    It is COMPLETELY normal!
I got like that right around my 6-7 months
I was always wishing in the back of my head that I would go into labour by about my 32 week, even though I knew it was better for her to be right whwere she was. Guess she made me pay for thinking that, too, she was a week and a half late AFTER having the doctor push my due date back a week, as well!
How long do you have left now?
What really helped me was teaching myself how to sew and crochet to get my mind off how anxious I was and make the time go by a little faster.

It's completely normal, but enjoy what little time you have left. I swear to you that I have not had one complete night's sleep since my son arrived almost 3-1/2 years ago. Get as much rest as you can now. Before you know it, you will blink and she will be 3!!!

I remember feeling that SAME way when I was about 6 months pregnant. I just wanted to see what she looked like, what her personality was like, to play with her, and smell her...

And I completely forgot to take naps for a while. The last couple of weeks, I couldn't help but to take naps though. Haha. I remember once, following Brian in our car while he took his gramma to see his aunt. And I was soo tired. I barely made it to the nursing home. I couldn't keep my eyes open, because I'd missed naps for the last few days before that.

Definitely rest up. If you feel the need to rest, give in to it. Feel a munchy coming on? Eat something. Indulge. Enjoy every time you need to pee.

Because once your little girl is here, you're going to be sleeping in three hour shifts (if you're lucky), trying to figure out how to pee and hold a baby at the same time, and figure out how to cook something to eat while your baby is crying and needing to be held...

But, it's still so worth it. As frustrated as you might get, she'll give a smile or a coo and you'll be refreshed completely by it. It's the greatest feeling in the world!

:D I'm glad that doesn't make me a freak. Haha.
Kirsten, I have about 10 or 11 weeks left. :D I'm so excited I can barely contain myself.
Preston laughs at me. I guess he'll have to meet her before he gets as excited as me. :p
I'm trying to nap, but between helping out around the house and getting stuff ready for her, it's hard to remember. I have been getting more sleep than I did before, though.

I was the exact same way. I am a very impatient person so the last month and a half was horrible. I joked with my OB all the time about bringing him out early.

and hippyfreek- the first week when i was still able to breastfeed I remember giggling because in the middle of the night I had managed to go potty while nursing Trey.

Do those 'baby bags' help out with managing baby and doing house work? I have one put on layaway. Mom said she didn't have the luxury of using one when I was a baby, so she couldn't really tell me whether I was wasting my money or not. The one I have holds a baby from 7lbs. up to 20lbs. It can sit the baby facing me and facing out.

If its what I think you are talking about.. I never used one because I knew it would kill my back. usually I just did housework when he was asleep, then used the playpen or the johnny jump up when he was big enough. Now its the highchair and some KIX

I want Mandred out too... if only so my spleen can recover from all the bruises and so I can pass waste without an elbow in my intestine. :)

I love the kid, don't get me wrong... but I really don't think either of us is comfortable at this point. He is running out of room in there, and reminds me of this constantly by hooking his toes into my rib cage and straightening his legs, which makes me uncomfortable.

Plus, it was 35 degrees C here today with the humidity (about 100 F if my mental F scale is still intact)... and my sweat smells different than it usually does... pregnancy has made me smell funny. Oh.. and I am really tired of getting heartburn everytime I lay down or even look at a tomato... water gives my heartburn at this point!

So.... yes... I want the kid out too. I want to hold him and love him and all those things, but I also am just ready to be done being pregnant. :p

It's a little backpack type deal. It straps on and the baby is in front of me.

    Priestess....I LOVE that name....Mandred. Kudos.
I don't think I've gotten any spleen shots yet....but Alexis loves to kick me in the rib cage....especially when Preston blares his rap music. I've also gotten a few heels to the hipbone.

I was like you icedtea, I hated being pregnant and I couldn't wait to see my babies and to NOT be pregnant.

Moon - what is a "baby bag" that you are referring to? IS it a sling? I would definitly get a sling. My older son lived in his sling from birth until he could sit up unassissted, and after that he spent about half his time in the sling and half sitting. My younger baby spends all day in the sling. Its the only way to get things done. PLus, babies sleep better in slings and they basically never cry, because they have everything they need in a sling - easy access to boobs, warmth, mama's smell, etc.

Invest in a simple ring sling. they are much easier to get baby in and out of than with all those buckles and straps! trust me on this. i own both! i prefer the NoJo sling...

Totally normal. I couldn't wait for my babies to be born. The last trimester does go quickly, UNLESS it is a really hot summer. The baby will be here, before you have time to get totally ready, usualy.

Holli....where can I find one of those slings? Mine is a back pack type deal. Preston picked out that thing. He said he thought it'd be easier on me than carrying her all on one side. It's 'snuggli' brand....if that means anything?

It's been terribly humid here. Ugh....I walk outside and feel sick it's so muggy and hot.
I bought one of those little spray bottles with the built on fan for my daily walk. I also wear tank tops and stretch shorts when I'm out. My belly hangs out of the bottom, but I'd rather baby show than pass out from being scorched in cover-up clothes.

The sling I love the most I made myself in literally 5 minutes. It looks like this www.moby.com You just buy 5 yeard of fabric and cut it in half width wise (so it is still 5 yards long, just skinnier) and hem the edges. That website shows how to tie it on you. You can practice with a doll until your baby comes, and then you'll be an expert.

Also, go to www.mamatoto.com they have videos and other examples of how to make all sorts of slings.

Another sling I love is a pouch sling. I personally hate ring slings, but EVERYONE i know loves them, so you might love them too. I think the mamatoto.com website has instructions on making ring slings too.

PS I have one of those baby frontpack things and I hate it. You can't nurse in it, and since newborns nurse so often, you'll be taking the baby in and out so often that it gets annoying.

    Thanks, mama!
    I'll check out those websites.
I can get some pretty good deals on fabrics being as my aunt works at a fabric store. I never thought to make my own carrier before, though. :D Should be fun.

The NoJos are available at BabiesRUs, and you can carry baby a variety of ways including all in front, on your hip, in the nursing position, etc...not just all on one side...

I wanted one of those SO badly when I was pregnant with Sage, and they were hard to find. I was pregnant all through the Summer of 88. One of the hottest, driest summers on record. I think, in CHicago, we went like, 60 days with NO rain, and the daytime temperature never getting below 90, and nights never below 80 or something. Ug, it was awful, AND I had to wear a pregnancy Girdle, because of all the contractions I was having. The heat broke the day Moon was born. My freinds called me up and said, "Thank you for finally having that baby. You broke the heat." LOL!

My kids really loved the sling, but hated the Snuggli. (Well, we didn't have slings in Petite sizes in the 80s, so I only had them for the younger two.) The reason they didn;t like the Snuggli, was that my kids, from birth HAD be looking around, or they would cry. If I put sunshine into the Snuggli, I had to MOVE constantly, or she would scream. When I got the Sling for Lennon, one day we were out with my mom, and he fell asleep, so we put him in the stroller (usually used for carrying toddlers and our stuff, not the baby) and Moon was falling asleep on her feet, and I put her in the sling. She didn't want to leave, and begged me to carry her around in it. She was FOUR and it nearly killed my back. But, that is how much most kids love them.

I used the Over the Shoulder Baby Holder. I like the Maya Wrap, as well. There are a LOT of good ones out there. Get something that is QUICK and easy to use, if you have to adjust too many straps, and rearrange the baby too much, you won't use it.
