    ID cards 'could threaten privacy'

    No shit Sherlock

I'm glad the Commons Select Committee are raising these issues, but ultimately will it make a damn of difference?

The full roll-out isn't until 2017, so we've still got time to campaign against Big Brother - http://www.no2id.net

I believe the same committee is looking into the defecatory habits of bears, and the Pope's religious affiliation.

If they bring in the whole ID card thing, I might fake my own death so they think I've died and don't bother sending me a card. But on the other hand that might limit my chances of doing ANYTHING else involving a passport etc ever again

I'll take a similar course of action, forms would have to be filled out anyway so I'll simply scrawl "THANKS BUT NO THANKS" across mine.

I had to experience the terrifying feeling of admiration for a Tory this week with David Davis' resignation and forcing a by election over 42 day detention. Sir, I salute you...for now.
