What are your thoughts on identity theft? Do you think it’s an actual threat because of an increase in technology or a scare tactic to encourage people to agree with the prospect of ID cards? Personally someone recently tried to steal my details by trying to get me onto a phishing website made to look like Ebay. I was quite shocked how easy this would be. I like to think I’m an intelligent person but I would have fallen for it had I not got the filter on my computer. However I’m not convinced it’s a massive as it’s made out to be.
Not sure about total identity theft, but I've had someone withdraw money from my account from another country. They cleaned it out completely. Pretty scary thinking about how they could have got hold of my details. Still, it isn't something that convinces me of the necessity of ID cards....
