If most people are crazy, does it mean they are sain? And crazy one are those, which aren't really crazy, just different? So basicly there is no thing like being crazy? Or crazy is synonime to different?

So it basicly depends on somebodys point of the view and his situation, rather than on facts.

People who are "crazy" are those who defy cultural norms under certain circumstances.

For example, a homeless man on a street corner yelling about the government would be considered mentally ill, but if the mayor did it, he would be considered giving a speech.

Since norms are created by the majority, then no. This is because "most people" cannot be "crazy".

What's the point in being sane when the whole world is completely mad?

We all have to agree, objectively, what reality is. If not than there is no reality and this terrifies most people. It's that same demographic that finds so much urgency about societal norms and screams words like sane and insane. They shout words like "conform" on every street-corner, from their business suits to the fake smiles on their faces.

This pale delusion that there is a definite right and a definite wrong is at the very heart of "sanity". And yes, most buy into it. It keeps the trains running on time, and they like that. They rely on it to survive. That's why there are so few crazy people and why they are so abhorred. But in truth, crazy people either are those whom just don't understand or, like me, who. do. not. give. a. shit.

there's a whole bunch of different mental illnesses. there may be more people with one of them than people without one of them, but i think perfectly sane people still probably outnumber people with any given disorder.

unless bad driving is considered a mental illness.

A good majority of people squeeze themselves into conformity. This is what makes normal normal.

But there are certain mental conditions that the most of us just don't have. This is what makes crazy crazy.

I've seen real crazy from almost 20 years working in a mental hospital. Some of that mental illness shit is tragic...once in a while we got to know folks who were floridly psychotic and quite happy to be so. Sometimes ya just have to step back from being the "healer" and accept folks where they prefer to be. Quite an education to share time with people going through that trip.
