those options do not describe what ide do. I wont let myself be drafted, I wont let myself be imprisoned for dodging either... shit, i'de be working on the new underground railroad where we can escape our fascist oppressor and flee to canada.
ha ha ha im a felon thats the only thingthat i learned from being at the the wrong place at thewrong time
This is a difficult question. Normally, I don't support violence except in cases of self defense, but I would be willing to break my own ethical code if it really means I could take part in an attack on Canada.
I would be on the first plane to Spain. Or, if I couldn't manage to go, I would head to Mexico and just move southward, with my little brother in tow. My parents are very anti-war and have said ever since this war began that the second a draft was announced, she'd send us both to boarding school in another country and that when I went to college, I would go to school in England or Spain until everything is calmed down. My boyfriend has even discussed it with me, and he would follow me if possible to Europe or if not we'd escape across the border to Mexico. It would be harder to track us down in Mexico than in Canada, especially me because I'm so dark.
I misunderstood the poll, I thought when it said go to <insert country here> it meant move there, become resident, and say fuck the government (lenny bruce rings through my head) instead I now realize it means go and fight, I would dodge via travel or any other means
Why are going to France and Canada included as an alternative to "dodge by any means possible"? Isn't that what you'd be doing? Anyway, I would not let myself be drafted (I'm 25, so I might be too old anyway). I would leave the country if it came to that. But I think Canada has an extradition treaty with the United States now; I'm not sure about France. Some places that I know you could escape to are Switzerland and Bermuda.
