Illegal drug use

I for one really don't care who does or doesn't use drugs.
I for one don't really give a damn WHY you do the stuff.
You can smoke enough pot to make your room look worse than LAX.
You can snort a line of coke from Dallas to Deschutes.
I don't care.


But reflecting on my interactions with folks that use drugs....
the TWO biggest reasons I have been given WHY people use drugs is so they can hallucinate and "live in 'La La Land".

Same here.

Nobody NEEDS drugs. I don't even really consider pot to be a drug. It's a plant. But still, I don't NEED it. It's like taking some aleve to help with a headache...when I smoke pot it helps me clarify.

lol I know I'm young. Just putting my two cents in as a smoker.

most drugs do come from plants, but they're also processed with chemicals.

 

I for one use drugs for transcending my ego/personal/philosophical inquiry as well as for ailments. You seem to have been around to many stupid people in life since you rationalize ALL drugs with this so called state of lala land..

 

When you live in a certain reality for so long, it becomes more real, and seemingly more important. People can tend to cling to reality and get caught up with current trends, or what others are doing or think, we can get caught up with superficial things.

Any time I've taken a drug, (with the exception of going to "la-la land" a few times) it was more a matter of only seeing certain things, or seeing things differently.

When you're high, on most substances, you'll look at things differently, often you'll leave behind concern for superficial things (especially after ego death) and will tend to get more caught up with your own thoughts and ideas.

As Bill Hicks put it, "When you're high, you can do everything you normally do, just as well. You just realize that it's not worth the fucking effort. There is a difference.”

 

You know there are drugs that can help with that...

 

I only hallucinated one time. Long story short we went pickin. I came home with a couple ounces of magic mushrooms. There were 3 of us. A crazy as a loon Army ex paratrooper, Robert and me an AF vet. We were smoking doobies, drinking beer and chasing the shrooms with Tekillya. I ate 120 shrooms over 4 hours. It stopped being fun for me when I started seeing cops with shotgun barrels 3 feet outside my second story window. I tripped for 10 or 12 hours. I NEVER ate that many shrooms EVER AGAIN. By a year later I'd stopped taking shrooms altogether.

I never dropped acid but I scored 4 hits for the trooper b4 he went to Alaska to work a processor.

I stick to weed cuz it's natural. My fave strain is Northern Lights.:sunny:

 

you drink soda pop and eat candy bars OP?.. I call Bullshit you never did drugs... I can see you never read a Book on what drugs are thats for sure..

Never fails to produce a big eye roll from me when people turn a blind eye to the fact that caffeine and alcohol are highly addictive (and harmful when abused) DRUGS... just because they are legal and easily accessible. Pretty much no drug in existence can be justified in being illegal as long as alcohol is legal. People seem to forget/choose to ignore the fact that it ruins more lives and causes worse addictions than most illicit drugs out there...

 

So then why did you create this thread? You obviously have a bee in your bonnet about the issue.

I dont know what hes actually saying at all really, and legality to many substances depends on where you live, cultures, ect..

As someone clearly pointed out: Legal/Illegal dont mean safe or otherwise harmful..
