So after 3 months of debating weather or not I want to eat fish for the first time in almost 4 years I decided to eat some tuna. I just opend a can and am now eating it with a fork. I feel like a bad person. I would like to pray to the almighty power that is ... that this poor fish which gave it's life so that I may satisfy my human urge for norishment may rest in peace. I thank you mr. tuna for this most amazing gift you have given to me ... your flesh.
I eat alot of flax seed ... which actually has more omega-3's than fish. This is purley for my own gratification.
I can hardly go a week without eating at least one can of tuna So is this the first time in 4 years you've had any meat, or just tuna?
I eat alot of tuna... clean (low fat) source of protein and as Burbot pointed out- high in Omega-3 fatty acids... and I also mill flax seed and add it to food. Please don't feel guilty- the fish had already given it life... you just made sure that it wasn't wasted.
Thanks stinky ... I appreiciate your support. Whats your name by the way? I feel like a bad person calling you stinky.
Why feel bad about it? It's a Frank Zappa reference & I kinda like it. There are scores who call me worse without so much as a pang of guilt. You could call me John if you like.
Well, as hard as I have tried, I just don't have enough energy if I don't eat some fish; so I guess I don't strictly deserve the title 'vegetarian'. I actually eat quite a bit of tuna. I think that I simply don't get enough protein if I don't eat some fish. Anyway, fish is good for you, including tuna. Charley Tuna, RIP.
Hey thanks John ... your official name. And to DQ ... I know ... i'm no longer a 'vege' tarian, i'm a 'pesco' terian.
but it is good and healthy for you. i sound like my mom now... i know how you feel, people are trying to convince me to eat fish, too... and i know it's healthy and stuff... but... i can't! i really can't! i haven't eaten meat for 3 years... and i think i don't need it.
WW ... I didn't know you were a veg head too Jelena! That's awesome. Now that the fish is eaten and being digested I don't feel quite as bad. I know that I was thankful for having it to eat. I know that I said a little prayer for it. I know that I wont be eating it again for a LONG time. hmm.
I eat dairy if it's in somthing else ... like say a slice of cake. But if i'm drinking somthing it's always soymilk, that's what I cook with too.
