...a few dreads off if I wanna go ahead with my tattooed side-cut plan ;)
Hmm. I think I'd use the severed dreads as extensions for some of the others; would feel surprisingly wrong somehow to discard them...which is dumb I think  lol

    :D

No I mean that having an issue with discarding them is kinda dumb. I've never thought twice about throwing away cut hair in the past. It's still just hair. Whether it's dreaded or not, it's still been on my head under my care for just as long. Yeh.

The tattooed side-cut plan is gonna look fucking hot is what :D

These are the pics which inspired me:

Even though it's actually a full scalp tattoo...

    I like this too:

I won't go that far up my head though, mainly because I don't really want to remove more than one row of dreads, due to re-growth time etc.

oooooooooooooh.... I think itll look hot!!

though I think it would be hard to continue shaving your scalp... though the fuzziness also gives it some style... maybe if you tattooed a teddy bear the fuzzyness would make it look better... or something like that... maybe a cactus.... Im just rambling now

I still think it looks sexy but it is something that must have been backed by some serious deciding...

    post pics when it happens

I have a decent strip of bare skin behind my ears... and I quite like the effect of a tattoo disappearing under the hairline, and even with that little bit of soft stubble over it. If I just shave away one row of dreads I think it should work out ok, and I wouldn't feel the need to keep the scalp fully clean-shaven all the time, but it would be there as an option and other times I'd maybe let the hair grow back for a while. I might try waxing the area rather than shaving, so that the hairs will come back thinner and sparser on that spot, instead of denser. But I'd only do that after having the tattoo there for long enough to know if I'd be ok to gradually lose my hair on that area. That make any sense?! haha

I think it needs to be colourful, and probably flowers and leaves. Nature is generally fairly fashion-proof lol. If I can come up with a design I like over the next month I can get it done this year. I've got 5 appointments booked, and a tattooist who is also a friend, so I should be able to squeeze quite a lot of work into the time and the money.

Thinking realistically, there are probably only just 2 months of short-sleeve weather left, then everything is gonna be back under cover until next May...so I really want to get some tattoos that I can actually see for most of the year. Neck/scalp and hands are usually near the end of people's lists, but they're right near the top of mine!

lol I guess youre backwards in tattoing, but I also think that people leave those for last cause they are not truly sure if they want em, I think if you are sure it doesnt matter where you start

Lol thanks. Permanent eh? Like the rest of my stupid self that I'm gonna be stuck with forever? Think I've dealt with that concept now ;) At least this will be a part of my body that I actually got a say in. And if it's crummy...I can grow my hair back over it lol, so technically it's the least daring place to tattoo haha :D

Healing is a bit of a chore in that particular area. Head hair grows fast when its cut, and your fresh ink won't be quite healed when its time to shave it again. Plus, dreads will suck up your antibiotic ointment...What do you do Amy? I would recommend a head tattoo before either a neck or hand tattoo, because squares in charge tend to frown on any ink that can't be covered by clothing. If you are ever even going to consider a corporate job or a profession that has an office environment, steer clear of neck and hand. My .02$ Whatever you do, you'll still be a thriller.
