I'm a child of the seventies I still have my side burns and every now and then let my hair grow. But there is a side to me that understands what Hippy's of the twenty first century should stand for. To love each other, to open our arms to anyone who needs help, to secure the views in nature, and to stop the ever depleating forest that our politicians and business men have so graciously giving us in their terms. our future children should enjoy the earth as we have. We need hippies to join colleges start a new movement creat our own political party develop our own constitution. i have read many books and talked to many people about the Sixties hippy movement. Their anti-war movement was good. Their choice of free love was good. they had alot of the basic ideas but could not deliver on basic principles Drugs, Quiting school, becoming socially discontent became the corner stone of the hippy movement. leadership was the key there where people and rock stars to look up to but no real leadership. maybe someday the hippy movement can start again with a new out look and a new meaning in life. take the freedom of love from the sixties and change it into a more positive advancement to the hippy astablishment. P.S. party on
See...I agree with you...I'll probably get some weird looks from others, but the whole drug thing....not good for your body or the bettering of our country...neither is quiting school...if you quit school many won't even have basic knowledge necessary to make things happen in this corrupt society.
I look at the hippy movement today as a positive direction for free thought, creativity to Art, Music, a design of a love culture. Dont do on to others as they do to you think first. react positive reach inside peoples hearts do not avoid the obvious. If others see me as a threat then they are willing to turn away from others as well. open thought comes with open mind which comes with open heart.
I agree with your views johny... just a few short months ago the forest behind my house was cut down to build new houses, and now the ones across the street are going as well. I try to stop this, i make petitions, i strike, i do everything possible... i think what i'm trying to get at is your idea.. one hippy can try to make a difference, but 100 will make a difference. we need more on our side... in the words of Bob Marley we need to get up, and stand up for our rights.
yea i totay agree.. vut i beleive also that the drugs have theyre place..to open minds.. but need to be treated with a far greatter respect & used far kess frequently.. & many should never be touched at all.. the hippie movement though that you hope for in the future is already here, it just needs a greatter sence of purpose & more movement in the right directions.. & people need to be more involved & work together towards change.
