One of my coworkers has been really annoying the past few months, so I avoided him. I worked with him today for the first time ina while, and came in in an exceptional mood. However, he instantly started the deluge of hatefulness and unnecessarily personal "joke" insults. I don't believe these to be jokes, nor did he state that they were, but at my job a lot of people are pretty fucked up and hostile and if anyone asks for a shred of respect, they get accused of not having a sense of humor. Anyway, last week I was really sick (throwing up, fever, etc) and had to call out. The company, being assholes, gave me shit about it. This evening, when I told him to shut up and leave me alone, he says (in front of my boss) "At least I don't call out when I'm not really sick" My boss demanded he apologize but he didn't. ON the contrary, he seemed to find my anger funny. My shift ended very soon, but I'm soo fucking sick of the lack of respect and the horrible people there. No one addresses or cares about the concerns anyone has, and there is absolutely no basic respect or common decency in fast food. I'm outie.
awww i know the feeling. maybe you should look for another job though before you quit? also is there anyone higher up that you could talk to?
you should work as a laundry assistant at a nursing home. its a very laid back job, and lots of nice old people to talk to
I don't get why employers always give you shit when you are sick and have to miss work. I get the same damned thing all the time. But yet when I go to work sick, I get bitched out cuz apparently I'm gonna "infect everyone"
::sigh:: i wish that people would stay home when they're sick. i had to send someone home yesterday. she should've just stayed home in the first place. at least your boss is sticking up for you. next time someone gives you shit for staying home sick, ask them if they'd like you to cough on them. that'll shut them up.
Her boss didn't do anything. Yeah, he demamnded that the guy say sorry but when the guy didn't the boss allowed the behavior. Food service bosses don't care if you have the runs they still want you to come in so that don't have to work.
Honey, if you think it's just fast food you're dreaming. I didn't say that people worked with the runs I just said they don't get a chance to pick and choose when their illness is serious enough for bedrest.
They don't care about any kind of illness. The employee who was giving me shit actually was forced to come to work in the throes of some pretty serious illness. He actually ended up being sick all over the floor of the office, so he should understand out of all people. Apparently not. And if anything, the CEOs care less about the employees. Our general manager has been wanting to go back to college, and the CEOs keep telling it's a bad idea, he won't make it, etc....fast food really is a bunch of self-serving little bitches, and I'm glad to be leaving. I just hope I can do it on the best note possible, because I've known my boss all my life and I do genuinely like a couple of my coworkers.
