I was in a city today a half hour way from me because i was vising my mom, I stopped at a Food Lion down there (Food Lion has NEVER giving me problems) to get some stuff to bring up there..well im walking through there when a manager says hi to me then i ask her where the cases of soda were she shows me then realizes im barefoot, looks kind of surpised then tells me me i cant shop in there without shoes, asks me if i know why i have to wear shoes blah blah then escorts me out the door like some kind of troublemaker wich is the reason why im tempted to e-mail them and complain...anybody got any advice on what i should do or if im in the right for e-mailing a complaint?

Thank you for reading this and for any advice :D

P.S. I went to Wal Mart just down the road and had no problems whatsoever

why you need to ask where the soda is?.. Maybe you should shop like a normal person and look for it yourself..

What about what's on the sole of someone's footwear? Barefooters tend to be more careful where they step because their sense of awareness is heightened. I've been barefooting for many years and NEVER had any problems with anyone else who is barefoot, diseases, etc.

I would be MORE concerned about whats between the toes of a shod person because they are far more likely to get athlete's foot than a barefoot person!

Your best bet is to contact the nearest district office of Food Lion, try to get of the manager's name who told you to leave first and foremost. Tell them what happend, that you were just shopping and were escorted out of the store just because you were barefoot. You are a paying customer, you deserve to be treated better than that, as you did nothing wrong.

This makes no sense. Even if a barefoot person did have something gross between their toes, wouldn't you yourself be walking around with shoes? So... how would it affect you in anyway? It's not like you even touch the floor lol and like somebody else mentioned, your shoes are way durtier i'm sure.. imagine all the stuff stuck in all those crevices..

I still don't get how having no shoes on is a health issue... it's not like you're touching the product with you're feet... i personally think feet are cleaner than shoes anyways, whats the difference between having dirty feet and dirty shoes? they both step in the same places, and shoes have the potential to step in even dirtier places whereas most barefoot people wouldnt be able to walk in these places barefoot

    *sigh*

It's not really a "health" issue, at least not from the stores viewpoint, it's a liability issue.
The manger or the chain doesn't want to get sued because some barefoot yahoo got their foot run over by a shopping cart or they dropped a jar of mayo on their big toe.

I've worked retail for about 20 years, most of it management, regardless of whatever you are told, it's always an insurance and liability issue.

and yes, I have seen people sue over stupid shit they did to themselves while in the store and win.

yea sure go ahead and send them an email
you'll probably get a response that reads something like this: "get fucked"
    Their house, their rules
