Why is it that some people are just so fucking immature?? I don't understand it, I understand goofing off and having fun... but some people are complete jackasses.

If I could I would punch them all in the face.

The way I see it is there's a big difference between being childlike (playful/goofy) and childish (immature). And I hate immature people, too. Friggin' grow up, man.

because immaturity is something you don't recognize until you've grown out of it.

maturity comes from wisdom, NOT through age
    there is a difference
    look at celebrities for example...
i'm immature when i'm able to be immature
i mean for fuck sakes i'm not even 20 yet, i should think i can still do stupid shit at my age
i think alot of people need to lay off on others for being "immature" because everyone has their moments of it
there is a time for you to put on a suit and tie and get to work and a time for you to dick around *that's a metaphor*
some people can't recognize the difference

I think that it's when their immaturity conflicts with their responsibility and wins that it is a problem. When they go to great lengths to avoid responsibility and duty just so they wont have to acknowledge their immaturity/failing is when I want to get away from them.

People have been saying ill grow out of things all my life. "in a couple of years youll have changed your mind..." type stuff. And maybe i am immature and i just havent grown out of all this stuff yet and age 30 ill turn around and think "wooah who was i?"! But i think its unlikely. It aint happened so far. Im me. Sure i learn things and grow as a person and add to my knowledge and sometimes i fall backwards or even very far backwards...but as the poster above sad, its about wisdom and not age. Loads of people get more immature as they "grow"

If you meant grow in a different way, then i completely know what you mean. Sometimes i dont recognise things until ive "grown out of them" in THAT way. Inafct i think thats what you meant, isnt it?

well exactly. i'm still so freaking immature in so many ways, i spent so many years emotionally stunted that i'm in a spiritual growth spurt right now. it's not about age. though age does factor into it in your youth, since there's a brain growth spurt that happens in your late teens, early twenties, too. enjoy being immature. it's how you make the good mistakes that help you grow.

lol, though i do think it's funny that the only ones who assume there's an actual age-ist bent in what i wrote there are the 19 year olds. don't be so sensitive and stuffy about your age. my parents both look at me and roll their eyes at my "youth," too. except now i don't get insulted by it.

Well it struck me as funny that I got a grow up message, and then see this thread.

    Geez calm the fuck down.

There are different levels of maturity. I don't think I've ever met a truly mature person. We all judge people, and compare them to what we think is right. So in essence no one will measure up to maturity level beliefs.

i think the only mature person i've ever met was dave's grandmother, 100 years old, and perfectly content to pass away.
