Yeah I used to advocate firefox unreservedly but lately I found that it doesnt handle some things as well as internet explorer and though it could be down to lazy web developers only testing their sites on explorer - I believe infact (due to experience) that firefox really doesnt handle certain sites at all well. Mainly sites like logmein.com that allow remote access into other computers through a browser - it seems to work best with the activex control than the firefox plugin I have begun to use explorer again - not for any other reason than for whatever the reason firefox sometimes doesnt work with some of the sites that push it to its limits. And no matter what that reason is - if I cant use firefox I use internet explorer if it does the job better - also I have found that some of the pluginsw for firefox are so badly written that they often mess up some of the functionality Firefox isnt without its flaws
It is a fact that activex opens up a lot of vulnerabilities I read the symantec report and the attack against activex controls is on the rise a while ago I made some webpages with dreamweaver they were only viewable in IE due to the fact that dreamweaver did not code properly if it is done right the webpage should be viewable with any browser I don't know if they changed it already.Hand coding pages is better in my opinion.....
