:) Any good indie movies worth seeing that the local "blockbuster" or "mammoth" might have? Thanks.

Well, I'm not sure if its an Indie or not, but there is a film called "Once Were Warriors". It's foreign from New Zealand but I found it at my local Blockbuster.

Bowling for Columbine, Michael Moore Documentary
    Better than Chocolate
    Frieda (sp)

Lots more, but that's a start for you. What kind of films are you into?

have you ever seen white oleander? I know a lot of people don't like it, but, i LOVE it..it's dark i think. I really want to see the virgin suicides, saved, and the garden state, so, stuff like that.

    I also loved White Oleander.

There is an older movie out there with a VERY young (like 13) Matt Dillon called
'The Edge' that was good and dark in a way.

Adaptation (not sure if it's indie, but I think you'll like it)

My brain is getting tired, but I've seen alot and we probably have the same taste, I'll think about it and post more on an earlier night.

    peace & light

    p.s. Where in Michigan? I'm in Holland...(ya ya..I know, don't say it)

    Pieces of April was fantastic.

    Box of Moonlight rocked

    Bagdad Cafe

    Passing Stones

    Mystic River

    Amadeus, My favortie movie

What's Eating Gilbert Grape my second favorite movie, same director as Pieces of April. Leonardo DiCapprio's ONLY fine moment on film, IMO.

Do you get either IFC or Sundance Channel on your cable? They have all indies all the time. My favortite channel.

I HATED Adaptation. What a waste of talent.

    Fun

made in 9 with alicia witt and renee humphrey. I saw it a couple years ago, but I remember it being my favorite indie movie ever.

Also reqiuem for a dream. A well made movie, though it is depressing and dark.

"Smoke Signals" and "Skins" are both excellent. Based on novels by Sherman Alexie, one of my faves. Also....

    "Big Eden"
    "The Business of Fancydancing"
"Fubar" (not exactly Indie, but you don't see it around anywhere, and it's funny as shit)
    "My Life As A Dog"
"What the *Bleep* Do We Know?" (not sure if that's on video yet though)

There's a start for you. I highly recommend the first two, they're very good and very emotionally touching.

Oh, I thought Mystic River was indie. Penn and Robbins and all. Hmmm, You aren't confusing it with Mystic Pizza are you? LOL!

I don't go to the show much (lots of kids at home) but I can't wait for Napolean Dynamite to come out on DVD. It looks fantastic.
