ok so here we go. my dread story is long and boring, so it's simplest to start the story around the beginning of october this year. here is a before pic so you can see how long my hair was before dreading. please excuse goofy pics.. i haven't taken any deliberate hair pics so am just going through random photos trying to find ones where you can see what state my hair is in. a couple of days after i started. i got a friend to section my hair, then i backcombed it myself over a period of about a week. i've done about half my head at this point (the front half lol).. the long tendrils of hair are from undreaded sections. you can see how much length i lost on the parts that are already dreaded. a few days later again. now begins the age of fluff. an attempt to tame the fluff for a night out. taken around the same time as the previous picture, about a week from starting backcombing.
the height of the fluff empire, about a month into the whole business. since that last picture was taken, the dreads are much less poofy. tightening up nicely.. some at the back have a few little loopies but sadly nothing exceptional yet.
The first and the fourth are my favs. Your lovely. I love the color of your hair. Your dreads are gonna be gorg! Keep us updated! =]
thanks mandy! love your pics on the candid thread. looking at other people's pics is pretty much my favourite part of the forum lol.
Yes. Yes. Pandy is the cutest. fickle, it loosk like you lead an exciting life with lots of ops for photos. =) Welcome to the forum and uber nice dreads!
yup he sure is mandy! daisy- i'm usually the one taking photos so there aren't actually too many of me. but right around when i started my dreads i moved from brisbane to san antonio with a short stop with a friend in denver, and a recent road trip to another friend in iowa! so i've had lots of hello/goodbyes, thus lots of photos. you know how people get i actually want to take some pics of my dreads specifically to post on here, but i'm pretty lazy. sooo... that may or may not happen! we'll see.
the kitchen in the last picture?? yesss! that's in iowa.. it's my friend matt's parents' kitchen. they were so wonderful and welcoming. his mum made this AMAZING vegan lasagne. never cooked for a vegan before in her life, and i'm used to people not even trying to ('you can just eat the salad, can't you???'). the whole evening was so great. arriving exhausted after so many hours driving and the house was so beautiful, surrounded by autumn trees, and warm showers and good food and home brewed beer and good conversation. aaah, lovely!
