ok so as i sit and smoke off my bong... im seeing my at-one-time oz, sitting in shake at which i eyeball about 3/16, and i start wondering "how could i make the most of this near extinct stash?" and im thinking "exhale lungs as much a ur body allows" and now im sitting there inhaling a toke for nearly a minute, THEN i feel the coughing coming... "shit coughing will be noisy (parents) and i might loose that big hit" so i seal my lips and after 6 atempted powerful coughs i gained control and held the bitch in there i find this to be a heavenly high, and i will permanently smoke like this anyone else have a favorite inhaling technique?
Why would you be worried about coughing if you're sitting there smoking weed in your room? Do your parents not have any idea what marijuana smells like? Or smoke for that matter.
eh, if you smoked in your room on aregular basis and shared the same wall with them then it would be understandable.
when my stash is running low my favourite way to smoke is pack a huge cone, smoke it down, and skull some alcohol while you're holding the smoke in, then exhale. or i pack two cones, and smoke one after the other, holding the first cone in.

Usually when I inhale, I take HUGE puffs, exhale half of it, and then inhale really deep again... gets the 'leftover' half back into your lungs, along with some fresh air. I do it because I have super-high tolerance to THC (I smoke a lot. a lot.) and it gets me a lot more stoned, a hell of a lot easier.
ya ive found breathing very lightly(to keep most smoke in, whil breathing) after a big hit is a more effortless way of keeping smoke in ur lungs and thats actually what i do while exhaling (after hitting) just forgot to mention it
btw wut does everone here think about "coughing being better than holding, because it u absorb alot of thc quickly" i cant comment on whether u actually do get more thc *for the short period of time that the smoke is actually there* - because thats biology beyond my knowlegde so would it be best to hold in as long as u want to, them make urself cough it up - for an exhaling technique
I share a wall with my dad's room and an other wall with my mom's room ( for some reason they dont sleep in the same room) so coughing could really get me busted sometimes. Right now, my dad thinks I'm asleep while the truth is that I'm stoned off my ass typing on this forum. coughing could really get me busted in this kind of situation, So I useually just try to keep the hits not for too long so that I dont cough. I get really paranoid when i smoke sometimes you know... anyway I remember reading somewhere that THC sticks quite fast to your lungs, so 6-7 seconds would be more then enough, it also said that holding the smoke for longer would only mean more tar and other harmful substances getting into you system. I am not 100% sure it's true, though.
learn some inhale/exhale techniques. like french inhaling, dragon beard, ghosting... you pretty much have the same hit twice
Ghosting is awesome, dragon looks fucking crazy, and I have never seen a succesful french exhale (not too many attempts though...).
French inhaling isn't as hard as you think it is. It's more successful with joints however. I can do it with my bwol but it's a pain in the ass so i don't do it often
You crazy aussies! I have a mate that would do that with a glass of whisky and sometimes would do two whiskies and two cones in one breath fukn nutter. I don't know if I could even handle one these days, cones are too much for me now, one's nice once in a while but I had one the other day and it blew me head off. I'm happy with spliffsies.
Does anyone know the answer to kar33m's question about the 6-7 seconds? I heard this once too. I know people that will hold a hit until they are black and blue when they're low on weed and I always thought it didnt make a difference.
^^ i used to hold in hits for as long as possible, at least until i started smoking by myself more often. i dont like to see the bowl cherrying and burning away if i'm not smoking it, so i usually hold in a hit for 4-6 seconds. sometimes i count to 6 (because ive heard of that 6-7 second maximum THC saturation point), but mostly i just go with the feel of it. maybe today i'll try holding in my hits longer.
