I think this is much better and more fun than buying a new wreath for each season.

I have a single wreath, hanging at my entrance, and every season, I change its decorations, so during the summer it'd be decorated with flowers, fruits and berries; at autumn, coloured leaves and either turkeys or ghosts & pumpkins for Thanksgiving and halloween respectively; xmas ornaments for december, white poinsettas for winter; buds and blossoms for spring. At easter there'll be bunnies and coloured eggs.

It's so much fun to recreate at the turn of each season and holiday.

    anyone else into making wreaths?

A plain grapevine wreath and a bunch of seasonal decorations is my usual housewarming gift. I think just about everyone in my family has one. It is fun. :) I don't have one at my current house because there isn't enough shelter on the porch and it was always getting rained on. But, when I move. . .

that's a nifty idea cerridwen. what is the wreath itself (not the decorations) made of?

I make a cedar wreath with some cool grasses and dried climatus flowers, and it lasts all year young, and I think it seems seasonless. :D

    I do like cerridwen's idea though. :)
