I love this show, even though the turn outs are'nt always the best, but jeeze it really tears me up when I see people struggleing with such terrible addictions. I never miss this show, I'm going to school for substance abuse counseling as well, so I suppose maybe I could learn a thing or two. Some of these peoples storys are insane though, if you havent seen this show you've gott watch. Sunday night 9 and 10 P.M. on A&E.
Not sure how this ended up in the Poetry forum, but I will say this: IMO, Fucking TERRIBLE show, not entertaining, and pretty immoral to boot. Like Jerry Springer but worse, cuz it lacks the comedy. Witness REAL people struggling through painful, shameful, moments....ALL ON NATIONAL TELEVISION!!! Why in God's name would anyone allow such a personal family crisis to be aired on TV?! Could it be that this show, like many a 'real' tv show, is completely fake!? Who knows, and who cares? We get to watch grown men and women sobbing, screaming, cursing their miserable lives, all in under 30 minutes!!! Now that's MY idea of a good time! Optomist Says: But the show gives us hope! It shows us that even the most dead-set addicts can turn their life around, no matter how painful the decision can be! It shows us how to truly care about someone, despite their bad choices, through thick and thin, to the bitter end! HURRAY FOR TV!!! Sorry, don't like to be a downer, but this kind of "entertainment" actually offends me a bit.
hahah i love it, and I'm evil sometimes i drink while i watch it too yea this isn't poetry the people do agree to do the documentary, and you have to be pretty far gone to act as bad as the people often do right on camera i think its interesting, and I can also see how someone would be offended by it
this show is totally fake, it's horrible bias information and it has to be scripted...and yeah not really poetry but man i dislike that show...
yea i dont know how i ended up posting it in the poetry section, butt i idid, it was suppose to be in the tv one. this show is in fact very really, and gives people and real look at horrible drug addictions. its definitly not fake at all, i dont see how people would pretend to smoke meth, and inject themself and so on, and fake the effects of use. the drug addicts are real people with real addictions who have agreed to take part in what they think is a documentary about drug addiction. although i dont know why some of them would want to exploit themselfs like that. those familys want to help out the ones who they love and thats all their trying to do
