the story of chris mccandless, directed by sean and starring emile hirsch, coming soon to theaters. eddie vedder is astounding on the ost! hard sun is such a precious song as the other folky tunes!
i cant wait to see that movie, i just finished the book and thought it was hella good, i hope the movie will be too
I'd be interested in seeing it, as I read the book a few years ago and liked it a lot. I'm interested to know how they adapted an unconventional story like that into a screenplay.
I read the book and I plan on seeing the movie soon. They had the world premier at a bar here in Fairbanks a bit ago. Sean Penn really liked it up here and felt he was treated very well. No disrespect to McCandles, but he is generally refered to as "the idiot" by those who survive winters mushing, hunting and trapping up here year after year.
I just read the book today and i can say it changed my life. Chris's life is nearly identical to mine so it kinda feels like reading an autobiography that goes into the future of my life, ending in my favorite place, the untouched wilderness.
I'd say Krakauer writes cinematically, as much as a journo can. I'm looking forward to this one, myself.
