Is anyone else tired of imitation meats? It's getting really boring for me to be eating fake meat, instead of really interesting vegan meals, etc. I'd prefer a tofu sandwich way more than just a fake hamburger... anyone else agree?
yup but theres a chinese grocery in my neighbor hood that has tofu packets you can make youre own tofu and flavor it the way you like if youre getting sick of the fake meats maybe you should eat more veggis thats what I did more quinoa and greens fake meats are meant to be a treat just like real people burgers are meant to be everyonce in a while except ours is way more healthy
I think fake meats are nasty. I orginally stopped eating real meat because I hated the taste, so why would I enjoy something that immidates meat? Fake meats are also too expensive.
Imitation "meat". Steak strips, burgers, bacon, etc- all made from vegetarian sources. I personally like fake meat. I use it but do not rely on it. Also, there is nothing ethically wrong with vegan imitation meats. No one suffered to make them.
i'm hooked on oh natural's chicken nuggets i was a meat addict before i went veggie though, so fake meats are a blessing to me.
oh hell yes. I can't stand most fake meats... I mean, okay.. I don't mind TVP, and I do like tofu (used to despise the stuff), but.. I can't say I really care for fake meats. OOh.. but.. Yve's veggie rounds.. the little imitation sausage things. Those are some tasty little buggers.
I was a hardcore meat-eater before going vegetarian overnight on an impulse decision... so I do eat fake meats. I was careful not to depend on them too much, though. I don't eat veggie burgers that taste like real meat, though. Most of the time they taste like somebody scraped a grill onto them... I like them when you can break them open and see what veggies were used to make them.
I rather like Quorn sometimes - the chicken-style bits, which don't resemble chicken in the slightest but are nice in their own right. I'm with you on a lot of it, though - that fakin bacon stuff is just odd!
I was raised in a household and lifestyle where meat was always the center to every meal/dish. Meat replacers are a blessing for me I'm trying to broaden my horizons, though.
Yeah, I think that's where they come in useful, Yell. They're a good idea in that respect, I think. Good for you on broadening your horizons, though. There's so much stuff out there, it's like opening up a whole new world. Peace, cb.
