Hi Europeans, I was wondering if Europe is a continent.
I think it is part of the Eurasian continent, but my friend says Europe is a continent in itself.
Please help us out, because we are getting in a big fight over this.

    Thanks!!

Can you provide me with links and/or other proof please?
And I would like to hear some more opinions.

Thank you, now that is some usefull information!

However, there must be one clear answer so I can settle the argument with my friend.

You may have to saw off on this one. :)

If you were to ask me, then I would say your friend is correct as that is how I was taught and what is the norm for me......but according to the site and infromation, you are also correct in grouping Europe in that way, so it is not a seperate one.....

Maybe you need to just have a beer and settle that you are both brilliant. ;)

I think it is not going to be easy like that, because we are both very stubborn.
Although I am willing to accept Europe as a continent, if he is willing to accept Eurasia as a supercontinent.

Now that might take two beers?

Good luck if you are both stubborn......I would work on the both brilliant angle with them instead though...... :)

Europe is a continent... sorry... but it's a fact, there are exact limits which seperate europe and asia, it's the ural mountains, caspian see, caucasus mountainsa and the black see, eurasia is more a political content of europe because russia has a large part of it in asia but it's capital is in europe so it's considered to be in europe

Let's start this way... how many continents are there on earth? 7... Europe is one of them... what divides europe from asia is urals, caspian sea, black sea, dardanelles.

Eurasia is NOT a place, it is a supercontinent.

I'm afraid I'm gonna have to agree on that one, Europe is a continent... But platewise it's on the Eurasian plate

Europe is a continent but its artificially called so. Like north and south america, there is no real reason, geographically to split them up.
