Ketamine is an amazing medicine... then again, ethanol was used for crude surgeries in the late 1800's I believe, but I think that's a very dirty way to anesthetize someone. Might be wrong place but...
well what is the real question you are asking here? Is it safer? Hell no its not safer. Is it more fun or do you like it better? I say yes.
Maybe I should have rephrased that to better... thinking more abstractly, was I. I agree with your second sentence, perhaps that is what distorts my perspective... However, I do find this, among other aspects, very interesting, and ethanol doesn't seem to have anything in comparison: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ketami...n_syndrome_.28reflex_sympathetic_dystrophy.29
no doubt it could be used effectively in medicine but heroin is an amazing medicine as well, speaks little to its safety when being used as a recreational drug.
From what Ive seen it do to people and what it reduces them to then ketamine is as bad as skag. Having said that, I still take it when its available.
In terms of OD danger - ketamine is much safer In terms of physical harm - ketamine is probably safer In terms of addiction - ketamine is less addictive but still far... far.. from non-addictive substance In terms of neurotoxicity - they are neurotoxic in different ways but that could become problem only if you use it too much In terms of possibility to cause dangerous behavior - ketamine is safer All in all I say ketamine is safer...
Absolute bullshit. Tell that to my friend whos just been in hospital for 9 months on life support and had to have a kidney transplant....short term theres a lot worse out there but long term addicts get destroyed by it.
That's true + experiences with ketamine (can) bring much more positive things, while drunkenness usually doesn't bring anything positive.
Higher chance of addiction though. Edit: It all depends what social settings you usually associate with but here and in the UK ketamines ruined alot of th free party scene, not got the nickname techno skag for nothing. The amount of people you see rolling around spastically at free parties is just sad, a lot of those people are bare addicts. Sticking grams of the shite up their nose everyday. Completely different enviroment and reputation for ket in the states though so obviously our opinions are going to differ.
really? the only thing I remotely agree with here is of danger of od. Ketamine addicts are just as bad as junkies. Its so easy to get addicted to if its around. Alcohol does too an extent but ketamine leaves you so detached from your motor coordination its scary. Plus I've seen some people become liars and assholes when abusing k, even myself to an extent. I enjoy the drug but Ketamine is one psychedelic I'll never stand behind.
Have you ever abused alcohol to that extent? And I'm NOT claiming that ketamine addicts are better than junkies..
I used and abused alcohol for 10 years. I used ketamine for maybe 2 years and by the 2nd year was constantly sniffing and rubbing my nose while not even on it and sticking needles in my arms. I think I still rub my nose on occassion.
