Is there anyplace in the world where LSD is actually legal? Like with weed, you could go to amsterdam, and as long as your at your home, a hotel, or the coffee shop. It's perfectly fine, it's just illegal on the streets. so whether it's got a weird spin or not, is there anyplace at all where you can just drop acid and not get in trouble with the law?
I was thinking it might be legal in that Gitmo jail in Guantanamo..but if you're getting any there you probably don't want it.
I think you will be hard-pressed to find somewhere it is legal. I think there do exist places where either it is not criminalized or it LSD laws are never enforced. For example, I am pretty sure LSD and many other drugs are not criminal in Portugal. Also, in certain 3rd world countries you likely wouldn't be charged for LSD possession.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Convention_on_Psychotropic_Substances Doesn't list by country tho. But, from Erowid...
Now that pot is looking like it might be legalized in the next few years, do you think LSD ever will be? I mean, it's a totally different drug, but it was legal for that 10 period session when it was invented, and the only real problem with it was the fact people abused it. But if we overcame that we could easily use it as a method of learning...
There isn't a single government in the world that wants its people to be more aware of what's going on.
It'll never be legalised in a capitalist society, because most people with half a brain realise that it's a fucking stupid system once they drop. Hopefully it might be allowed to be used in psychotherapy. Psilocybin has a better chance than LSD though in my opinion, it hasn't had as many of the "negatives" attached to it.
10 period session??? WTF is that? LSD was first synthesized in 1935, it's psychoactive properties were discovered in 1943 and it remained legal worldwide until 1966. That's cool, but decriminalized isn't the same as being legal. You can still go to prison for it, it just depends on the quantity.
It is legal in the Czech Republic in very small amounts, no more then would be enough for a single person to be totally spun out for a few hours. The explosion of Czech acid on the east coast this past year has been wonderful. Nearly every drug, Heroin included, has been legal in small amounts since the beginning of 2010. Beyond this, no, there is no civilized country on earth in which LSD legal. It is not sold off the shelf anywhere. If you want to take acid without worrying about getting arrested for the 3 hits left over in your wallet, go to Prague. In fact, go there anyway, it's probably the coolest city in the world.
Like I said, it depends on the quantity. 500ugs of LSD is OK, 1 gram will land you in prison. In Ca. an ounce or less of weed is just a fine not to exceed $100, but a 1/4 pound will land you in jail. Legal and decriminalized are NOT the same by a long shot.
This is very interesting indeed already planning on going there without this knowledge and this makes it all the more exciting, thanks man!
There's places like portugal with derciminilazation on all drugs. There's probably lots of countries that just don't care or monitor that sort of thing or have laws on the books at all. But they're probably not countries you want to go to on holiday. However, the tide is turning in the war on drugs. People are figuring out that even if drugs are bad, it's up to people to not take them, and up to your mom to tell you that, not the DEA. People are also getting very angry about punishments that can ruin your life for having drugs, when it's highly improbable that having that drug would ever cause any sort of real (non legal) ramification even close to that. But LSD and psychedelics still have all sorts of negative connotations. I was in a conversation where this came up today.... I get fucking sick of people telling me that LSD, even if it's not "bad", is a shortcut, or cheap, way of doing what bhuddist monks spend their whole lives practicing for. NO, it is NOT, at ALL. Being a drug is NOT an inharently negative thing, and having to do with learning and fulfillement is NOT all the same and is NOT just mimicing another sort of understanding of other things. I know this last paragraph is sort of incoherent, but I'm now to pissed to want to deal with grammar, dinner time!
