Which Method are you going with? It might be a bit too short for backcombing, maybe give it a month or two. If your going Natural it should be good, just don't comb it =D If you don't comb it does it get knotty at all?

you could try backcombing... but really your hair should be a couple inches longer if you do. Id say Just let it grow and stop brushing/combing. Just dont do anything stupid like wasting your money on a kit for locks.

sort of, i think i am going to try to have my friend backcomb a few (if he can) and see how that turns out. and what i dont really get is how you wash them? i have read up on things on here but i didnt get a good enough explaination from it... like, is there a certain way to do it?

    To wash -
get a bottle of dr. bronners castile soap and a 2 liter bottle. fill the two liter bottle with water and add literally 3-5 drops (if not less) and shake up your new mixture. this is diluted bronners shampoo. pour maybe 1/4 of the bottle onto your scalp, and gently wash it. you may get a lather, or not. then rinse very very thoroughly as to not get any residue from the brew. you dont want res in your hair. then be gently as you dry it and dry it very thoroughly.

do this once or twice a week (or as needed) and just let things happen.

when you got your hair backcombed did you keep rubber bands in while doing the backcomb?

isn't that mixture with the 2-liter and 5 drops of bronner's a little weak? i mean, do what's right for you, but i usually dilute it around 12 parts water to 1 part bronner's. i don't even see how you could get a lather going with it diluted that much.

Your hair is fairly short but just begin the process now and stop combing etc. Won't be long before you have some awsome dreadies!!!
