    Realistic? You should be more specific. If by realistic you mean logical than the answer is no. No religion is logical since it is belief based on an absence of proof.

    It fills a hole in me that I felt while I was a Christian. Christianity just didn't cut it for me.

    Man I love the path I discovered 4 years ago.

    Good point. I mean think about it almost all Xtian holidays are pagan ones.

    Christmas= Yule(germanic) or Saturnalia(Roman i think)
    Easter= I guess this would be in most pagan religions through fertility rights regarding rabbits(fertility symbol) and eggs (fertility symbol)

    I could list all of them but I dont want to take the time, also one has to remember the saints in catholicism, many of the older ones are just pagan gods that were "christianized" to make it easier for the rural(pagans) people to convert. One off the top of my head is the Irish goddess Brigihd who became a saint.

    The original poster was just trying to troll, and I've noticed he/she is banned anyway. I wouldn't even bother getting into the discussion if I were you.

    it IS an interesting topic, though. it's never really made sense to me that people can find christ and jehovah more believable and rational than paganism. it's like they believe it's scientific or something. no, it's faith. and many of the shared symbols and events, the correlations between the two pretty much negate any sort of difference between them to me. i still like christ a lot. nice guy. i'm sure very early christianity is very different from what it is now. christ's resurrection written about DECADES after his death was the death knoll for christ's political rebellion. i wonder if he just gets REALLY annoyed at what's been done with hismessage and his fight.

    Much of Paganism and many paths of it are not "historical" in that is they do not point to specific events that took place in the past (such as Christ being cricified, raised from the dead, etc.) As a a result, these Pagan sects cannot be questioned or proved wrong if those events are challenged.

    This kind of non-historical nature-based paganism (that I am comfortable with) suggests relationship with the world, universe, and with ourselves (both as long indiviudals and as part of a group.) To my way of thinking, the resulting vision is more realistic than belief systems that do not deal with these issues.

    Thus, (1) because these forms of Paganism cannot be proven wrong and (2) because they deal with nature in an appropriate manner, they are more realisitic that Christainty.
