I have this wood pipe i got from someone who made it, and he left for the army before i could give it back. Its the only pipe i have right now and everytime i smoke out of it my lungs hurt really bad after a while. Whenever i smoke out of it at night in the morning i will be coughing shit up like i smoked 2 packs of cigarettes the day before. When i smoke out of pretty much anything else im fine.

I am not sure why it would do that but i would get rid of that pipe and get another one for the sake of your lungs.

yeah i've smoked out of wood pipes before and i've never had anything like that happen.
but if your lungs are hurting and you're coughing up shit, then i would just smoke out of something else.

Certain kinds of wood can be hard on your lungs. I've smoked out of wooden pipes that didn't irritate me, but I've also smoked out of shitty homemade ones fashioned from scrap wood that caused discomfort.
