Absinthe is the correct spelling, but it must contain the active ingredient 'wormwood' for it to be the real thing. Loads of places and pubs claim they sell the real stuff but in reality all your getting is very strong liqueur tasting of aniseed. Just make sure the bottle ingredients say 'with wormwood' when you buy it. The proper stuff is quite expensive to buy by the bottle. (eg, £60 in UK) Prague is excellent for Absinthe and Northern Spain. In A'dam try:- ABSINTHE NIGHT BAR - Nieuwedjids Voorburgwal. Has Arabic cave like decor. open 8pm to 3am.
Now I will look dumb but I am a pot head only type of person. What is this I have read about it a few times?
