is your father a hippie??

I dont know if my father is a true hippie but he is all into nature stuff. First he would never let me get drugs for headaches or go to the doctor. He loves to do teas for me to get better. Also he meditates every sunday ,orning like 7am and he does tai chi (which i am learning with him) and he is just peaceful, calm and patient... Anyway i think he is aa hippie by nature

Is your parents hippie? I mean, acts like one? I think is pretty funny and I love him because of that ! I just thought it was interesting to share

 

He was not, and he has been gone since 1978, I still miss him alot...:-/

Thanks, its ok really, time passes but the memories wane very little. He was cool in his own way, like he never had issue with my long shaggy hair or the fact that I played in a rock band in the 60's.... I am now older than he was....:-/

Smokes alot of weed - check
Doesnt believe in killing anything (he eats meat, but releases spiders) - check
Makes things out of wood - check
plays the harmonica - check

I guess on paper he's a hippy, but he does alot of things to contradict that. so yes and no.

 

Pretty much the complete opposite. But he wasn't too objective to having a daughter the world labeled as one, so he's an alright dude.

 

My dad was pretty redneck...but hippie? No.

He liked building things and making something outta nothing. He saved a lot of random stuff to use for projects he was working on. He was frugal...in some ways he was kind of hippie, but for the most part, he was just a redneck haha

hi maluhia.ya it was cool cos i had the best of both worlds.i travelled all summer with my dad and i lived in the house then all winter.that was the compromise they came too. i could'nt wait for may ta come again ta get back on the road again.your dad sounds like he's very wise too.does he make ya hebal teas?i have 70different herbal remedys. i pick them in all the different seasons.there is geat healing in herbs.an my friend does tai chi like your dad.i admire the discipline in it.it dose him loadsa good anyway.

Oh yeah, well my father uses chinese medicine you know? Some chinese stinky herbal teas hahaha
Tai chi is a lot of fun its kinda hard though, sometimes i rather do yoga but it is good

no my dad was just a throw back from another time.just in his blood.he was a lone ranger gypsy.i'm the same as my dad,but my sister and brothers think more like settled people.but the place i feel most at home than anywhere is amongst my other gypsy and traveller friends.its just something in a persons blood.its hard to explain.

 

ya,theres a few shops here that do that chinese medicine stuff.i dont know much about that,but i've met people who swear by it.your dad probably knows loads about it.i must check it out.ha! ha! ya,some of the good remedys always taste bad.it helps if you add a spoon of honey.you could try that in your dads teas.i use it in mine,then it dont taste so bad.

My dad gave me the idea of being free... not pinned down with anything... loved him... a free thinker...loved life..loved being free to find the nonsense in life and ring its neck!!!!lol.... thats my dad!!!!
