I am tired of fighting wars for others. And watching Israel perform caged shoots because they feel the US has their back. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/steve-clemons/israel-is-crossing-the-li_b_171284.html What I wish Israel to understand is that as an American taxpayer, I am not their shill or flunky. If they wish to start another war than they can do that at their own expense, without US arms or aid. Isreal today is a worse risk than the banking or financial industries. They've been trying to drag us into this war for years. I have no beef with the Iranians. The republicans campaigned on building more nuclear power plants here in the US, now we are supposed to wage war with Iran because they are building plants in their own country? If we take our eye off world events because we are too totally focussed on our own economy...we're in real trouble.
Well we definately shouldn't of created the state of Israel in the first place. But I agree, we need to let them do their thing. We just gotta mind our own business and stop trying to police the world.
The thread headline is misleading Israel doesn't "want" a war with Iran It is concerned with Iran's nuclear power ,as Iran has threatened many times to wipe Israel off the map. Presenting the issue as war-hungry Israel aiming to attack peace-loving Iran is not skillful However as an American citizen you have the right not to support Israel. This is your choice.
Israel has nuclear weapons. Why should we not fear Israel just as much, if not more than Iran? After all, they did attack one of our ships. Really, I cannot think of a bigger terrorist state than Israel. Iran has not the means, nor the want to nuke anyone. Israel, on the other hand, does. Israel has been looking to nuke Iran for years. The people who are buying into this crap about Iran are easily manipulated by fearmongering. Iran should be the least of you people's worries, when your real enemies reside in what you believe is "your" own government.
Why are you personifying countries as if they behave like living and breathing persons? Kind of lacks value when you make statements like that. BTW, did you see what Italy was wearing yesterday? Those pants were so last season.
No, we just put it in the wrong place. Instead of the M.E... we should of put it in West Texas... someone here said that, I had said Mexico.. but I like the west texas idea better
The US is a close second. I am not a weak-minded nationalist zombie like some people. I can admit the many flaws of "my" country.
Why the quotations? I am so pleased to hear that you are not a weak-minded nationalist zombie like some people. You must make your mother very proud!!
Pretty sure the USA is #1 when it comes to terrorist states. Pretty sure the Yanks have the highest kill count in all of history. Not to mention the other kinds of organized terror on top of body killings, torture, rapings, and destroying lives and communities through USA capitalist corporations. Israel #1 eh? How many times has Israel invaded countries that do not touch their borderlines? the USA?
Then they are myopic because more and more of my neighbors believe as I do. This last caged shoot proved to us what the true motives of Israel are. Can Israel do it by itself? I don't think we will feel the nuclear fall out over here. And financially we can't afford to back your biblical iniatives any longer.
I'm pretty sure you need to brush up on your history. Mao killed upwards of 43 million people, which is the official but still very conservative number. Some estimates say 60-80 million. That is not to condone US atrocities, which are numerous. The US has killed over a million people alone in Iraq, which is uncalled for and which everyone should be speaking out against. But it's also important to note that US foreign policy is largely dictated through the Israel lobby. The evidence is pretty staggering that US foreign policy is a product of Israel.
This is so semantic. Systemically, it's obvious that Israel is an anglo-american colonial outpost. If the U.S. capitulates to the Israeli lobby, it's because that course of action is in keeping with its hegemonic project. How could Israel possibly force the hand of the U.S.? Israel is economically, politically, and militarily dependent. It's shit like this that earns you the conspiracy theorist label, Rat. Think systemically rather than in moralistic terms and you will see the light. :cheers2:
Look at the people in Bush's cabinet. Look at Obama's chief of staff. You are absolutely right, though. Obviously Israel is controlled by the same people that control the US. That's why I am very critical of people that point the finger at Israel as being behind everything. I am simply speaking to the people who can only see things according to "this country" or "that country" -- who do not understand the globalist system -- in terms they might be better able to understand. Otherwise they're not going to get it. At the visible level, US foreign policy is tied to Israel. Of course it goes much higher than this, however there is no getting that through to some people. If anything, it's made to appear that Israel controls US foreign policy so people will not see the bigger picture, which is that, yes, the Anglo-American establishment that set Israel up controls both the US and Israel together.
Ok. But I would abandon the project of "making people see" things, otherwise you'll end up with mind-bending, preconception-driven rationalizations like those of the pro-Israel crowd themselves. Some people don't wanna "see." They are emotionally attached to mom and dad. Leave them--. It won't change a thing, I promise you. Nuclear proliferation is unstoppable and Iran is going to get theirs. Israel has one, so why not Iran?
Israel doesn't care about your neighbors either. Hell, I bet that your neighbors think that you're paranoid.
