Look, first of all I got nothing against the mellow herb.I've certainly had my share of it, and i still light it up any chance I get.I like the stuff that looks a pale green and smells like you got smacked in the face with a pine tree.

However, for you new smokers and folks that might be thinking about trying it.Read this first so you'll get some knowledge.

It does have sideaffects.Anyone who tells you it doesn't is a liar or doesn't know that.I do, I've had the worst panic attacks and other nervous and physical reactions.I know the stuff was not laced. It's just that I'm wired a bit differently than most people.I'm not saying that all this will happen to you for sure, but if you smoke it, it CAN happen.

If it does usually the best thing that works for me is to have a few beers. That always calms me down just fine and gets me back to the point where I can enjoy my buzz again. In fact it's gotten to the point where I won't even mess with it unless I've got a handy 6-pack.

If it happens to you you'll notice first the pins and needles in your hands and fingers.Than it gets to your feet and your eyelids'll start to bug out a bit.Your chest will tighten up and you'll feel like your going to have a heart atack(which thinking on that can make your attacks worse)All you'll have to do to disprove this fear is to look at your fingernails. If they're nice and pink you've got no need to worry(you might want to get out from the blacklight first however). You should worry if your nails start turning blue. That means you're in trouble.I doubt you'd have a real heart attack though so don't worry drink some beers and know that I warned you.

    Everyones body chemistry is different..........

And in my opinion, you probably have anxiety when not smoking pot, and its simply a coinsidense(sp?). I am not a doctor or anything so I could very well be wrong but pot does not cause panic attacks, if anything it should stop anyone having one.

    PEACE

    Bullshit!

    No side effects.

If you have problems, the weed just lets them out- but they belong to you.

    No side effects?
    Isn't that a little dishonest?
Everything is good and bad, ying and yang, pot included.

I agree with geckopelli. It is known that people who have latent psychological disorders and smoke marijuana have their disorders appear more prominently and repeatedly. But the marijuana itself does not cause these problems, only reveals the person's true selves, disorders and all. This is why many people end up with ADD and ADHD; the problems are latent until they start to smoke pot, where they are brought out in full.

depends waht you mean by 'side affects'. would you calss paranoia as a 'side affect' or as an 'affect'? in many ways it is an 'affect' for it is good in that it keeps you alive and driving safely lol. but its a 'sideaffect' in that some people cant handle it.

why the fuck have you come in here scaring people about heart attacks though? you cant get a heart attack from smoking weed by itself u dick. in fact didnt mattinvegas even report that it saved his life when he was having cardiac problems? (not that ive made an assumption from just that though)

its written almsot everywehre that paranoia is an affect. when people talk about sideaffects with weed they talk about physical sideaffects, which are the ones people fear. as said again and again, any psychological sideaffects are merely amplifications of waht your really thinkning.

oh and I read a book inwhich almsot all the cases of young-teenage abuse of marijuana were from kids who already had add/adhd and its use helped the problem, not caused it.

I threw away my blood pressure meds and smoked a joint. 128/68.

I threw away my pain meds and smoked a joint. Bearable pain, no addiction.

    HappyHaHaGirl,
I would get you higher than you can imagine if you were here.

I think it has a few side-effects. Isn't smoking anything harmful to your lungs? I also think it causes short term memory loss. I dont know about you but I smoke about 6 times a day. Now that I have a job I only can smoke bout twice a day. Then again abusing anything is harmful. I knew a person who drank to much water and died! It flooded her brain! But that is the only real bad side-effect from weed it's harmful to you lungs. You can prevent that by just eating the herb though.

Of course there's negative side affects to pot! It has more tar than cigarettes, but most people dont smoke a pack of pot (which is equivalent to 1 oz.) in a day, but lots of people smoke a pack of cigarettes a day. Also you can eat pot, or vaporize it and both of those reduce the harmful affects on the lungs.. there is 0% lung damage if you eat a brownie! Also if you smoke danker weed, and take smaller rips, don't hold it in as long that also reduces harmful affects of herb. As for short-term memory loss, yup it can do that (so what you have to study a little harder, I manage), and its a lot healthier than most medications. As far as any ammotivational syndrome I denounce that from personal experience maybe if you take gravity bong rips, but other than that pot doesn't significantly affect my motivation.

Alcohol can kill you. It can ruin your liver, which is just as important as your lungs. It can affect your short term memory for up to two weeks after a heavy drinking binge. It's a lot worse for you and more dangerous than pot.

It's not very cool to be high and drunk, that's when you start acting stupid. REALLY stupid. Oh, and NEVER EVER EVER EVER drive even if you've had one beer...

i too wish that i could get high but alas i am currently seeking new employment and unfortunatly anything in this town that pays more than garbage requires a urine test and i used up my window on friday when i got high. now to the latter paranoia is a side effect of cannabis in most people for the fear of prosicution. puting yourself into a situation where you have to be paranoid while using cannabis is simply pointless it will ruin your buzz and this paranoia agitates many psycological disorders ESPECIALY anxiety if you have never taken and anxiety control class. my best buddy has adhd and anxiety and when we smoked out togeather when he didnt have to do anything or worry about anyone finding out he loved the stuff and felt better than ever worry free but anytime we entered a situation where he had to worry shuch as his family finding out it would send him into a panic attack beacouse of his uncontroled anxiety.
