Apparently i have 12 to 18 months left..
    oh hum
so thats about a year left to talk..
[ i dont intend to go down in a bed with tubes up my ass]

Any who want to speak about it are welcome.
Hip is a great place and always interesting.
    as is life.
Im looking forward to an answer[to it all].. if none.. i wont know.

regrets/ yep, i regret every thing i ever did. except my daughter
but regret is nothing. i mean whats the point?
    [im not catholic]
Do i shed tears? Yes..more now than ever. But not for me.
    for boromir
Watched all of LotR last night, such eloquence and purpose.
I would have followed you my brother, my captain, my king.
these are the things i will miss. These are the things we can do and imagine.. epiphany

    The Sea of Faith.
Was once too, at the full, and round earths shore
Lay like the folds of a bright girdle furled,
    But now i only hear
Its melancholy, long , withdrawing roar,
    Retreating, to the breath
Of the night-wind down the vast edges drear
And naked shingles if the world.

Ah, love, let us be true
To one another! for the world, which seems
To lie before us like a land of dreams,
So various, so beautifull, so new,

Hath really neither joy, nor love, nor light,
    Nor certitude, nor peace, nor help from pain;

And we are here as on a darkling plain
Swept with confused alarms of struggle and flight,
Where ignorant armies clash by night.

Will certainly put more effort in than the previous 48 years..
So much to do so little time becomes THE rule.
fascinating really. I mean im lucky,, how you might ask?
I get time. most just drop off the earth in supermarket lines or in a car wreck
or while watching tv...i get time. once agin.. even at the end.. on that darkling plain.i land on my feet..
    always been lucky that way.
i consider it a gift and i have been gifted with choice
What i think i will do is go where themnax is.
He's in the wilds somewhere.. like rockies or canada.
    somewhere beautifull and at peace.
Who wants stinking concrete and steel and busy little beauracrats.
The tribe moves on,, and it is time for an elder to admit he cares not to keep up..

I'm really sorry to hear this, man. Your posts have really had an impact on me, and Hip Forums won't be the same without you. But I hope you're not throwing in the towel prematurely. There are new treatments coming along every day, and it isn't over until it's over. I hope this doesn't offend you. It's my own wishful thinking.

occams' posts are a most welcome clarity amongst a chaotic universe, thank you, you will be sorely missed. Maybe you would like to take some psychedelics? Some research has shown that people are helped doing so. For me, it can give perspective. All is change

I'm not sure if saying sorry is the right thing to say or if it's even appropriate, but I would like to speak about it. Its not very often any of us gets this chance to speak with someone who knows they are going to pass away and if you're willing, I'd like to ask a couple of questions....

I do realize that the pain your friends and family will feel will be great and for that I offer my condolences to them. We all know that someday, we're all going to die, but my first question is this.... what does it feel like to know with some certainty, when this event will take place? I ask because I just turned 48 myself, and with my past life style of smoking and drinking, realize that I'll be lucky to continue for another 15 or 20 years, barring freak accidents and what not.

Next, as long as you're physically capable, are you making a "Bucket List"? If so, what types of things might be on this list?

Since you posted this in the Atheist/Agnostic forum, I assume you are one or the other. If so, are you finding yourself questioning your atheism/agnosticism?

As an atheist myself, one little quote has helped me get over the deaths of friends and family in the past.....

"Why should I fear death? If I am, death is not. If death is, I am not. Why should I fear that which cannot exist when I do?" Epicurus 341-270 BCE

Hopefully I haven't offended you and my appologies if I have, that was not my intent. I understand if you can't answer some or all of these questions, but if you do, I may ask some more if thats alright.

Best wishes for the time you have left with your loved ones.

    Darts :cheers2:

I'm curious as to who told you this? If it's a doctor, please take with a grain of salt. I've been told about half a dozen times in the past 20 years that I was going to die. They also told me I'd never have children, I'd never walk again, and all that other shit. Wrong on all accounts.

I'm 57 and that last time was 2 years ago when they said I had uterine cancer. I had the hysterectomy and they said I still had it and wanted to do more surgery. I said no thanks, I'll take my chances.

I used crystals, meditation and color therapy and three months later, they couldn't find the tumor.

Don't give up. People should die in their own time and in their own way, not when some doctor tries to make an educated guess. They actually are wrong more often then they are right.

If you listen to what they say, your body will align itself with that prediction and you will die in 12- 18 months. But if you take control of your own health, anything can happen.

Don't give up. If you don't believe in a higher power, at least have faith in yourself.

A specialist.. but then i agree with u .. doctors are only slightly less ignorant about life than the average human.
All should be taken with a kilo of salt..;)

I was told i'd nevr gain full use of left leg after bad bike crash.. and here i am walkin round..no probs.

my philosophy is that my existance is a great gift i did nothing for...
Whatever i get,, is a boon.
i might have 5 or more years left,, cause i NEVER give in cause someone says its hopeless.. THATS a call to arms for me.
[and i have a very high pain tollerance]

    well met sister.
You used your methods,, they work.. kudos to your for giving the experts the finger and doing it your way.
I'll use stubborn pigheaded refusal to die on time. LOL

Our society has become soft and weak,, to many spend last days in white dying rooms [like in soylent green] with no hope... FUK THAT

    occam

    btw prob is Liver
Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency interferes with the way the liver produces, processes, and stores enzymes, proteins, metals, and other substances the body needs to function properly.
Unfortunately i drank a lot when younger... DOH...didnt help.
the specialist was a bit of a sceptic i think tho
6 months later im still feeling fine... i might outlive him...lol

But.. we all go in the end..
So i look forwrd to the last great adventure.
    maybe the greatest
    or maybe ...no more me.

    C'est la vie
