I was wondering if there was anybody on these forums who work in the IT field?

Last year a graduated froma 3 year computer networking program at St. Clair College (Windsor Ontario) Since my graduation last June I have been unable to find any jobs in my locality. Seems everything is out west...

    Hows the situation elsewhere?

Well, I just got a contract after 6+ months of being laid off. And I've got 22 years in the business. The largest IT employer is laying off lots of people so the local market is flush with qualified people looking for jobs.

Best advice I can offer is to be trained in multiple languages, op systems, and databases. If you don't have .NET tech, try to get it. Oracle 11, too.

    Best wishes to you.
