CALIFORNIA, Pa. -- A local university sent out a health alert to students.They believe especially harmful marijuana is being spread around the California University of Pennsylvania campus.The marijuana in question is laced with Jimson Weed and the side effects can be deadly.The Jimson Weed, also known as "Thorn Apple" or "Stink Weed," dangers come as a surprise to Cal U. students who spoke with Channel 11.Fortunately, none of the sickened students suffered any critical injuries, but campus officials said there is a reason to be concerned.School officials are strongly discouraging the use of the substance.If you or someone you know overdoses, call the health center or 911 right away...

California University officials would like to make students aware that the administration has learned of students who have become ill and sought medical treatment after suffering side effects of marijuana laced with Jimson Weed. Jimson Weed, also known as Thorn apple, stink weed or loco weed, is not a controlled substance, but has the potential to result in accidental poisoning. Symptoms may include incoherent speech, rapid heartbeat, seizures, intense visual or auditory hallucinations or cardiac arrest. A Jimson Weed overdose is potentially serious and medical intervention should be sought immediately. If you or a friend show symptoms, call 911 for an ambulance or go to the University Health Center in Carter Hall. The Health Center is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

LOL, all I got to say. Whatever. This reminds me off all those warnings on drug comericals. May cause your head to explode. Just because someone has a heart attack because they smoked some weed they are trying to make it a heath risk.

Ya I'm sure I'm not stupid enough to buy something that doesn't look like weed. The people that smoked it probably know nothing about weed and prob got ripped off anyway.

My experience with smoking the leaves of Datura was, at best, "inconclusive."

On two occasions, I smoked Datura leaves. On one occasion, I smoked a flower.

The first time, I smoked three leaves. The leaves were about two inches long, and one inch wide. Datura Inoxia was used in this case. They produced no effects, including no pupil dilation. The second time I smoked no more than the first, although I got a stomache ache. This may or may not have been because of the nervousness. The third time I smoked three leaves, the same size as the previous ones, and I smoked an entire flower. The flower was about 6 inches long. No effects whatsoever resulted. _Psychedelic Shamanism_ states that "no more than 2 grams should be smoked per week" Im pretty sure I smoked more than that, (in two days) with no effects.

The taste of Datura smoke is unpleasant. It has a vague "dirty" taste to it. It was smoked out of a water pipe about 8 inches long (the actual chamber was around 5-5.5").

 

My buddy goes there. Thats messed up if someone is putting that in weed. But its probably just a few isolated cases.
