    I've been thinking about becoming vegetarian for a while now. Alot of people tell me how much healthier it makes you feel, and how much better it is for the enviornment. I want to do my part, ya know?

    anything more experianced vegetarians can tell me about being vegetarian?

    thanks

    my advice is to read, look up info...
    don't just stop eating meat while you keep eating other junk... that is the mistake I made when I turned vegi...
    Keep a balanced diet, and read all lables, even if it says vegetarian... there are many hidden ingredients that aren't vegetarian, they just go by different names...

    Are you going all the way Vegan or just vegetarian???

    Have your purpose or reason for becoming vegi well defined, this will help you when you are tempted to break your diet... For example, if you do it for the animal you will have that in your concience and just thinking about the poor animal will make you say no to the piece of flesh.
    Now... when it's more of a health reason I think you're more likely to cheat cause you can easily say "one little burger won't hurt"

    you get me?

    Since my reason is for the animals in over 10 years I have never cheated nor had the urge to...

    let me see what else....

    well just ask me anything and I'll try to help...

    I meet very few people (veg or otherwise) that have a thorough understanding about proper nutrition. There are lots of reasons why people wouldn't do well on a veg diet, and they have nothing to do with the absence of animal foods. You could sit around the house eating nothing but Uncle Eddie's cookies and Blue Sky cola yet still be eating a vegan diet. It's not enough to eliminate the animal foods; you have to eat the right foods too.
