Is it true that putting nug in an air tight glass jar for a couple of weeks can actually crystallize it more and make it more potent? Many of my friends do this and claim it works, but i thought id get an opinion from someone else.
How can THC be formed from dead plant matter? All that is happening is that the nug is drying and the crystals which were once just below the surface (which you get when you smoke it anyway) pop through the leaf matter as it dries and shrivels.
^what he said. also, if left in such a way, it will cure over the course of a few weeks and become a much smoother, tastier smoke.
Hmm.. increase the potency? I doubt it.. although, it might just be in my mind, but after a few stays of storing in mason jars, it's happened that my bud ends up looking significantly more crystallized. edit. just read stonerbill's post.. guess I'm not crazy after all.
I think your just less likely to have THC getting stuck in resin. a dryer smoke might deliver you more THC (probably pretty marginal) but no more THC will form.
no, it does increase potency if the bud wasnt fully cured previous to this. But I think you have to open the jar once a day.
you dont need to open the jar if the bud is properly dried already. if its too wet tho, and recieves no fresh air/air flow, you WILL get rot if not opened every 2-3 days
humidity + organic matter = rot In general. So yes, pay attention to that. I had found a bud once that was there for at least 8 months, if not longer. It completely blew me away, and looked like complete fucking garbage. Didn't smell like anything either. Certain cannabinoids actually counteract THC. All the cannabinoids act on each other in one way or another, so letting it sit for long periods of time may cause the breakdown of certain cannabinoids, giving way to less blocking of the THC and other psychoactive cannabinoids.
