fuck that...im 21 and i have a slight obsession for jerry garcia, and i ahve several friends who are way more obssesed than me...i dont know what it is...its his voice its his word...i dont know what separates him out from the rest of the band, but something does...

i mean the man has a following, people believe he was/is God...

i'd like to know why this is also...fascinating stuff

He has a magical energy. You can just hear the passion in his voice when he sings, so much emotion it sounds like he is crying(very apparent in the song Wharf Rat).He puts it all out there, it's not that he is the BEST guitarist in the world and most certainly not the BEST singer in the world but he performs with all his heart and soul. His fans feed off of this energy and passion, it runs through your soul and you feel a one on one connection with him.
Wait, are you talking about a sexual fetish? If that's the case I don't see it either.

 

I like Jerry Garcia because of his man boobs. I think most Dead fans would agree with me on this one.

Yeh I think he is more of an 'icon' value than anything else. He had a cool beard and took drugs and was white.
He must have been a cool dude because he didnt really earn much explicit fame.

i can not tell a lie. up until last night i was one of the dreaded bob haters. now thats not to say that i didnt like bob, but ive made my fair share of weir jokes in the past and would have scoffed at the idea of going to a ratdog show unless they were opening for ABB or something.

now, having my face melted by the dead last night due in part to the FANTASTIC performance put on my mr. weir i know the extent of my wrongdoings and i am ready to begin repenting.
