On October 9th a very special birthday is celebrated. On October 9th 2007 Mr. John Lennon would have been 67 years young. I would like to dedicate this thread to remember one of, if not the most liberal and artistic minds of all time. 27 years after this death, his fascinating life is still being remembered and honored. John Lennon wasn't only an unbelievable musician, he was an amazing person too.I adore and admire John Lennon and would like to welcome anybody else who feels the same way I do to post their feelings, ideas, and even comments about or on John Lennon here as a little birthday present for him if you will. I love John Lennon so much. The Beatles were my first favourite band, and they were what got me into the 60s and hippie stuff. His post-Beatles work is so amazing, too. I love the song "Give Peace a Chance" - it always cheers me up for some reason. So many of his other songs are wonderful, too. Great lyrics, great tunes, so amazing... It's horrible and tragic that he couldn't have lived longer to spread more peace and love to the world. He was such a wonderful person, and I know he's changed many lives besides mine.

John, George, Paul & Ringo changed my life by the music they brought to America in the early 60's. It wasn't considered "pop" then. Totally different than anything we had ever heard at the time. I was so into the music I decided to start playing an instrument myself. Still do, but now play a totally different type of music. I feel they changed my life for the better, and now I also pass it along to kids thru music lessons, free, to any kid that wants to learn how to play a guitar or bass in our area here. i have a john lennon poster in my room-he is one of my heroes. happy b-day, john! if he were alive today, he'd smile knowing that we're listning to him even after he's gone. he'll always be here in spirit<3.

once i really got into his music and learned more about his views, i instantly knew he was a hero ofmine. i watched "the US vs. john lennon"-great movie-and after, i cried my eyes out. hearing his story moved me in such a way......
