Joints Won't Burn

Recently, I've wasted a lot of weed by throwing away half-gone joints that just refused to stay lit. What am I doing wrong? It usually happens when I use a very small ammount of weed (just enough to get high by myself), and I roll a cigarette style J (although it happened with a cone once too). WTF is the problem? Too tight? Too loose? I think I may not be breaking the bud up enough, because they've all been rushed and I usually make the weed a lot finer. Most of my js do burn, just recently I've had 2 or 3 I had to throw out because they just wouldn't work!

 

Its either too tight or the way you roll makes the paper uneven and not circular.

 

i had the same problem when i started rolling. its both because it's not broken up fine, and it's too loose. if it's not broken up good enough the nugs will burn unevenly and if it's too loose the paper will burn more of itself than the weed. mixing both problems wont even stay lit. i think thats your problem.

You must be smoking some sticky icky weed that hasn't been dried properly. I've only once encountered something like that ... it's almost not possible to crush that kind of buds with your hands. But since I like grinding weed with my hands instead of a grinder alot more I tried to crush it (when I grind it with my hands I always get the best rolls).

When I tried to light that bitch it wouldn't even let me take a half hit before it went out again and I ended up smoking it by constantly applying a flame while taking hits (which tastes gros btw).

If that's the case, then just put the buds on a cup and put it on a hot place (about 40 ~ 50 degrees centigrade) for an hour (or maybe a little less). I swear, it does miracles just don't overheat it or dry it in the sun ... that's the best way to ruin your smoke.

 

That happens often if I use dense, sticky bud that can't be broken up finely by hand..

And I have to smoke outside. Don't want to bring half a J back to the dormitorio for fear of the smell. Plus, we're talking fairly negligible ammounts. ~.1-.2 g

to get back to topic, firstly, wats wrong with just relighting it even if it doesnt stay lit?

also, hitting it often and taking big hits often keeps it burning, so dont take small hits or it will probably go out. also, maybe ur paper isnt dry enough? also, if u smoke cigs, add some tobacco it will keep it burning

 

I just rolled one, broke the weed up a lot, spent a fair bit of time making the J tight and packed it at the end. If this shit doesn't burn, I don't know what will. I may just have to admit defeat and start using more weed....or get a bowl.

And the relighting thing is tough when you're outside and the wind is blowing.

 

^Second that. If you don't mind, a little rolling tobacco will make 'em burn nice. Dry out your stash, and use a grinder if possible to get a fine product. Roll 'em not too tight, looser is better...

 

I don't understand why you're wasting weed. You can save that stuff to smoke in an apple or some other homemade device or just roll new joints.

I just don't get who is dumb enough to throw out joints when you can smoke that stuff another way or in another joint (just properly rolled). That's money wasted.

Your problem is not breaking the weed up enough. Make sure you take out the stems and seeds too.

 

:chill: It's my money, and I already explained that the risk of the smell is not worth keeping it. How dumb would I be if I wasted half a year's tuition money because I just HAD to keep that $5 worth of weed....

 

Your concerned about the smell emitting from half a joint? I don't think that would be much of an issue....anyways how'd that other joint work out?

 

You might be rolling those joints too tight. It's good to get them tight, so they burn slower, but only to an extent. Try rolling it a little less tight and if that doesn't work, you need to dry out your bud some more. If that doesn't work, try getting a little rolling machine. If none of that works, you're doing something fucked up. Haha.

Anyways, I think you're cool with brining half a joint back in without anyone smelling it. I used to walk outside and smoke a joint and I'd always bring the roach back in and as you walk in my dad's, you're about 1 1/2 feet from where my dad sits and he never said anything about any smell. I think you're too paranoid about that.

DroneLore the only thing i dont understand is why dont u just relight the joint when it goes out? i dont see the problem in that... rather than throwing it away.. i mean fine dont keep it in your drawer or anything but finish smoking it! we know its your money we are just trying to help u save it and also trying to understand why u would waste ur money.
