As long as I have been supportive and completely inspired by the works of Wikileaks and Julian Assange, I am disgusted to learn this sort of pompous business secrecy action. Maybe he is learning just why powerful institutions have an affinity for privacy.... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/05/12/wikileaks-confidentiality-agreement-leaked-_n_861238.html
Oh and I love how no Wikileaks groupi was willing to post this on this site, which has basically become a hub for Wikileaks groupies and fearful conspiracy theorists. Don't let the government drive you to fear, let the amateurs do it!
So "guest," Are you using one of those fake accounts that the governement is usesto post on social networks and forums? (No I'm not being paranoid, I'm ust playing devil's advocat and making a case about being careful about what you read) I think Wikileaks is dealing with a mountain of problems from many sources. It doesn't surprise me that they would demand a fair amount of loyalty from its people. And I also believe that there is many sources out there that are going to try and smear Wikileaks with anything they can. Say what you will. I'm still cheering for the underdog. ** Go Wikileaks Go **
I like that opening remark, genuinely funny. I understand there are people trying to smear the wikileaks cred, but this seems like a true example of some hypocrisy. Granted not too badly, but still. And I've always had my doubts about wikileaks, as with anything else, there is a question of power involved. I support Bradley Manning and whistle blowers though. I like what wikileaks has offered, and I hope it does a good job. We can also see corruption in our system on the surface, and there is barely even the potential for a significant change to an unbalanced influence even with all the attempts. And you know what, majority of the people don't give a shit either. but yeah America, and it's media have always done a good job of hiding details, and the devils in the details so they say.
He's a douchebag, old news. Doesn't change the fact that he did the right thing, whatever reason he had, with wikileaks. If found this article (linked on the sidebar) much more interesting: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/...law_n_860836.html#s277665&title=Josh_Chambers
Keep in mind that Assange could have very easily made wikileaks into a security firm and ransomed back the information for far more money then he's getting now. Trust me, our government would have given him a billion bucks for those leaked cables. Had he done that, he could have been right now sitting on a tropical island sipping champagne and having sex with 50 blonde Sweedish women that wouldn't care if he wore a condom or not. Condemn Assange all you want. But at least he's in the fight trying to do something for the better. Which is more than those condeming him have ever done or ever will do. So my friend I will leave you with this, All you can do in this world is try to live your life with some sort of value or meaning. I have no doubt that Assange is far from being a saint. Because I've noticed that men that make an impact of some sort in this world seldom are saintly.
I'm not just going to "trust" your interpretation of things, there's no way to verify any offered arrangements. I agree, he's fighting for the right thing, but not all people in government flat out aren't. But most aren't. And even if most were, it would still be rigged to not get things changes. Atleast Assange admits and insists he's not the hero in these cases. He's certainly given whistle blowers an outlet for them to be heard, but when are people of influence going to push for action? Likely never. My interpretation has been that the whole fascination with wikileaks has been more so a fantasy and blind hope than actual potential. Never say never though? I don't know. I do know that even in the situations where Government tries to do the right thing for the underdog, there is a need for secrecy. This privacy issue is not black and white. I saw that too Roorshack, not really that interesting, just shows how stupid Florida is and always has been. On a side note I would move to a place where sex was actually outlawed, just to feel adequate.
lol..you were a "guest" just a few weeks ago .. are you? (not an actual question so dont bother to answer)
For whistle blowing there are the liars and the sincerely hateful of geography. For what I've seen of Julian Assange he was and still is a geo-informaticist and rhetoricist. A nice job if you can get it. if the planet Earth really is what he says it is God save us all. But he still hasn't come out with the goods on that one; is he an atheist?
Hmm, seems like standard practice for any business dealing with information, especially in a journalist realm. Also, this would erect a large barrier for any anti-wiki agents trying to sabotage the organisation through the seemingly only possible way. Many attempts in the media are now being made to change people's opinion on wikileaks to a bad one, this seems a pretty pathetic attempt. Assange knows what his job is: Human shield. He's good at it. Realistically, there is a rift amongst the founders of wikileaks, hmmm search "wiki-rebels" on youtube or google for more info (hope that's right, you should get a documentary under the same name with footage of the founding members of wikileaks describing the rift in their own words). As for VoT's accusation, it does seem to make sense. OP, you express your deep-rooted support for wikileaks, so why share in the muddying of their rep? Why not focus on their more positive news stories recently? And as far as I can tell, the conspiracy "theorists" here and elsewhere are not "fearful", we are ANGRY. And if you, or anybody else, get in the way of us then we'll be punishing you along with the world leaders that betray us, it is only a matter of time before the Arab Spring infects Europe (Spain is on the brink) and our brothers in the US are awakening fast. MANIFEST DESTINY!!!! FREEEEEEDOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!
Rhetorician. You often use obscure and lesser known words in your posts, personally I think you would be much better off using simpler words as you would be more understandable. Also your grammar often leaves a lot to be desired, so much so that it sometimes comes to the point where you don't make any sense at all, please work on that before you start showing off your vocabulary. BTW I'm not trying to offend you, I just think you would benefit from constructing your sentences in a more digestable format. Back on subject, has anybody any real news on Assange? I would love to know how the old chap is doing.
mustlivelife: You, in the UK, one of the world's greatest nanny states, are talking about what americans need to understand..... That's golden. You're right about willedwill though. Maybe I wouldn't skip over his posts if he made those changes.
@HeavenBesideYou Assange needs as much doller as he can muster, no offense (not really) but your display of ignorance by posting this shows how little your ability to refine and recite what has been happening with julian and wikileaks, baffling! it's not like HE is Censoring any of the documents! you get what you pay for. If it is BIG like war crime or something serious it will be spread via everywhere possible on the net with compliments from wikileaks. The zionist would have him dead if he was a broke man! without lawyers and money julian is as good as DEAD! the USA is after him you incompetent fuck. yeah yeah like the man who hacked the us government is gonna work at mcdonalds to pay for his lawsuit, you fucking dickhead he is making the government transparent you should be kissing his ass. PS I'd love to fight you!
He has an agenda like everyone else. I happen to support his agenda. The smartest way to push this agenda effectively, is to give the information out in a controlled manner. By putting a gratuitous fine as a penalty for releasing the material before it is planned to be released, you are preventing damage to your cause. This shows that whatever he has locked away is some serious shit. If your willing to charge your employees 20 million just for leaking the stuff, it must be good. As far as him keeping it secret, that isn't hypocrisy just so you know. His website doesn't promote a transparent wiki leaks, it promotes transparency of government. The very nature of his cause demands a large amount of security and confidentiality on the side of the organization itself. He contradicted himself in no way, troll.
No need for that shit, man. There's enough violence in the world already. I know well that the arrogance of people on the internet can be frustrating but try to rise above it, eh?
