Well for some reason I was thinking about being blind today...then I was thinking about hallucinagens. Then the idea snapped in me; get volunteers who were born blind and have them do hallucinagens to see if they can see visuals...of colors or images. I just thought it was a cool idea. I was thinking about dreams too...does anyone know if people who were born blind see stuff when they dream.

We talked about that on mushrooms once with this old blind guy and he said that he would have tried it if he was younger.

lol this is too long for now

but I saw a documentary on TV once about those born-blind people who said they saw in their dreams and basically they said it could be cause they imagine what it would be like to see and see what they imagine.. or because they could see in a past life, but for that you'd have to believe in reincarnation.. I don't know what I believe, I usually only believe in what I.... see

Maybe it is because their brains are still wired for images, whether their eyes work or not.

but they had never seen images.
babies slowly learn how to develop images, that's why throughout development they get obssessed with looking at different things
at so many months they prefer simple shapes at so many they prefer color, faces, etc.
someone who is blind born absolutely can not comprehend what another language is like
it would be like us trying to imagine what death is like

I've heard numerous time, rumors about born blind people seeing in their dreams, but this idea has never been supported by any science.

an interesting link on the topic:
    http://www.guardian.co.uk/notesandqueries/query/0,5753,-26761,00.html

    excerpt:
"my brother has been blind from birth and has been dropping acid on a leisurely basis for years. I was with him one day when he experienced a flash-back - he claimed he could smell the presence of a rainbow before his knees dissolved and he crashed to the ground, fracturing his wrist and elbow. Once my laughter had receded I asked him what he thought a rainbow looked like - he said it felt like a thought of an ocean."

How does one describe colour and sight anyway? Blind people know what shapes and textures are because they can feel them.

I didn't think this would get so much buzz. I wonder what it would be like for a blind person on DMT...

I've actually thought about this before. I've had tons of closed eyed visuals on different drugs, seems like it could work.

Of course, I also wanted to try giving acid to a retarded person and seeing what would happen, so don't listen to me.

Blind people (from birth) of course have no idea what objects look like such as oceans, rainbows, clouds, etc. but they do see color in their dreams, mostly always for women, men usually dream just in black and white always, but occasionaly have dreams in color. so if they were givin lsd, theyre going to freak out tripping, but they arent going to see visuals. they would have a completely different trip, it would be all about how they feel, instead of how they see. just as simple as how they manage day to day activity.

Well I will let the scientists decide that. hehehe. Seriously though I don't think that thats true. I mean if a blind woman can see colors when she dreams then why do you think that drugs could not enduce color. I have had some crazy closed eye visuals. A lot of people think DMT takes you to another dimension...so I think its possible for them to see things in color. I would really like to try it.
