This band is excellent - I love their album!

I was hoping to see 'em live, but their gigs are now sold out. BUGGER!

    Make that 3!
Kasabian are class, the "indie" scene has been in need of a new Primal Scream/Happy Mondays/Stone Roses style band, indie music with deadly beats. It's highly unlikely any of the yanks in here have heard of them though, I mean they're not from the 60s/70s for starters.
I presum Kasabian will put in an appearance in Dublin soon and I'll be there giving it loads!

    Make that 4!

Saw them live for the 1st time about 1 month ago. They played a short show starting at 1AM at the Paradiso in Amsterdam. Had never heard of them before and I loved the show.

Can't wait for their return to Amsterdam on Jan. 26th at the Melkweg.

Hey, guys and gals, not all Yanks are out of touch, music wise. I'm from middle America - I fucking hate it - but I've heard Club Foot. And, after scouring the Internet and seing some of the NME-type press Kasabian has been getting, I just ordered their album from across the Atlantic (It doesn't debut here until March). I can't wait to hear all the songs, not just Club Foot, which is a fucking amazing, whirling dervish of a song. Unfortunately, living in middle America, I don't know many other people who are going to dig Kasabian. The Stone Roses and Primal Scream didn't exactly hit it big in Ohio. If anything, at least I know there are people across the Atlantic who have good taste, you guys and gals included.

I was thinking today (i do that once a week) other 'hot' bands that get a lot of press i think are overrated. It might be my own personal taste but bands like Snow patrol and The libertenes have one or two good tracks, but as a whole their latest albums bore the pants off me. Now with kasabian, no not every track is a classic , but its all prety good. I never have to skip any tracks because its bordering on the manic depressive, like some of the stuff on the two bands albums i mentioned earlier .. Gee whiz i was listening to both today and i realy don't hear what is so good about them to be honest..

    Long live Kasabian ... :)

Tracks = songs , i am just being cool man .

Only heard their album the one time, but it did impress me more than Snow Patrol's or Keane's. More than most of today brit rock saviours.

The scene does seem to be coming around again, The Killer's single "Somebody Told Me" is pretty great too I think, have to look into them also.

Anyone heard any Your Code Name Is: Milo? I haven't myself, but apparently they hail from my home town...Which is saying something really, we've only had Bryan Ferry before this I think!

I'm not a big fan of Snow Patrol. I do however love The Libertines, their first album 'Up The Bracket' was fucking class. The Killers album is great as is The Zutons one aswell.

The Zutons, indeed! I caught what I guess was the full TV commercial for the album, there must of been four/five singles all sounding like old favourites! And I thought I was rather oblivious to the singles market nowadays.

The Libertines are someone I've managed to avoid though, not through choice or anything, I just can't remember hearing much besides 'You Can't Stand Me Now'. I was hearing more about arrests and band break-ups I in a way didn't see the point of getting all that excited about them, as they were clearly gonna be around for just five minutes.

Then before I knew it, Babyshambles. And Libertines minus what had appeared to be their real star.

The way their career has gone by so quick it's probably about time to look back upon that debut album and think of a better time! So aye, I must just do that...After The Zutons :)

Hey, I'm the yank who posted about Kasabian on page 1 of this thread. I just got the album from overseas and it is f--king amazing. I can't wait until they tour in the U.S. All I can say is wow. I feel like I stepped back to 1990 when the Stone Roses, Primal Scream and The Charlatans were making me think music could never get any better.

Kasabian look set to start 2005 with a European tour in January. Tickets have gone on sale for dates in Brussels, Amsterdam and Paris.

Rumours are also circulating that they will be supporting The Music for their USA tour throughout February and March. The dates would be Kasabian¡¯s first full tour of the States, having recently played a one-off gig at New York¡¯s Bowery Ballroom.

The band completed their largest headlining UK tour to date at Brixton Academy last night. A particularly great night for the lads as it was also Serge¡¯s 24th birthday. Between songs, Tom seemed in a reflective mood, thanking the audience for the success the band have enjoyed in 2004.
