kids and chronic...

what do you think?

I have no kids but my best friend has 3 ages 12, 10, and 5. my friend doesn't hide it from them that he smokes and doesn't curb his language at all. So last night at his crib i pulled a pack of backwoods out of my pocket and his 5 year old little girl says
"ooh...is that weed?"

my jaw hit the floor. my friend responded to this by telling her that was a bad word and not to say it anymore. the two boys have never asked about it but i'm pretty sure the older one knows what it is somewhat.

SO...what's your opinion on cannabis and children? not them smoking, but more it being around them and whether or not you should lie...

 

ganja chills kids the fuck out. especially if the mama blazes. it's medicine. I'm not tryin' to hide anything.

 

once they're older (like over 12) i dont think its bad to openly smoke in front of them, even if you blaze with them. but if they're that young chances are one day they'll tell someone else (a teacher!), especially when at school when they talk about drugs and all that lying shit, the kids will probably say "oh my mom smokes weed and it cant be that bad" and she would probably lose her kids.

i think she should hide it until they are a little older when she can trust them not to open their mouths

i completely agree. my mom smoked weed with her friends outside on our porch when they had lunch at each other houses. my mom didnt tell me she did nor did i know it was weed. i didnt know she did that untill 9th grade of high school. she smoked weed when i was younger and had no idea.

 

if it were legal i think it would be fine. just look at how it works with alcohol, our parents were never afraid to hide their drinking from us, simply because alcohol use is widely accepted in our society, unlike marijuana use. like another poster said a huge risk would be the kid telling someone.

health wise? doesn't matter. second hand weed smoke will not harm nor intoxicate the children.

it's pretty obvious to me that if a little baby or toddler is hanging out in the same room as a smoke session, they will breathe in some of the smoke and possibly get a little high from it.

it's not harmless. don't smoke around children.

 

I've known so many kids who's mamas smoked with them inside them.
Myself included.

unless you're inhaling the smoke and immediately exhaling, 90 something percent of the THC will be absorbed in the lungs. as long as the parents aren't hotboxing with the kid or something its not going to do anything

 

if a parent smokes i dont think they should let their kid know about it until they're at least 16 and it should depend on their maturity level as well. even at 16 it's not a good idea because kids talk and the last thing a parent wants is to get a visit from DCYF or child protective services concerning their kids.

 

smoke particles are not healthy.

marijuana is not healing.

this is silly.

So many of you are born into such a whack society.

I feel bad. Ganja is a sacred medicine, and it's brought so much health and wellness into our lives. I've been around so many mamas and kids who've blazed...

you guys have no idea. I'm sharing with you my opinion because I know this. This has been my whole life. I didn't smoke until I was a teen, by my mom did, and I was a really smart kid, and grew up artistic and wise.

Like I said, believe whatever you want. The kids/babies who's mamas smoked were the best behaved kids I've ever met.

in any sense i actually agree with you, i don't think parents should smoke around their kids, even though healthwise it won't hurt them. It's because cannabis should be respected and only used by responsible people, and smoking around kids could give the wrong impression.

I know it sounds crazy to you, because you think ganja is a Drug.
But I've observed it in so many families...I don't come from the suburbs like you do...

just expressing my observations, mate.

 

i wasn't aware i came from the suburbs. the five acres of woods i lived on must have fooled me.

and i'm not brainwashed into thinking weed is an evil drug.
i'm just not brainwashed into thinking that it is a miracle medicine either.

my dad smoked around me when i was a kid. it probably didn't have much of an effect on me, but it may have made me think it was ok to smoke pot. maybe it is ok.

i'm just saying, let the kids make their own decision.

absolutely nothing. it showed me great respect.

 

when my mother was a child and lived in california it was as normal to see a bag of weed or a cube of hash on the table as it was to see a pack of ciggarettes laying around...and this in no way has harmed her

 

also, we all come from different walks of life, I just wanted to share with you my observations. I don't even smoke ganja anymore.
