My Kindle of 2 years finally crapped out on me. I've done my research on both new devices, but was wondering which one other people like. Keep in mind I don't have an issue about losing my Kindle purchases if I get a Nook. Also, not looking to get the tablet versions of either, just their plain old e-reader models.
This should really be posted in the "Internet" section But to answer your question get a Nook they are great when you want to read something on the throne. eReaders have certainly made the bathroom readers life much much more enjoyable... That's for sure....
The nook is ok but the company that makes them is going out of business and if you have a nook youll be SOL. the kindle is a better option and amazon has 10x the content available.
Yes, but you forgot one important thing... Support may be lacking, but really.. How uch support do you need for an E-Reader?? Not much
Get a tablet you can do so much more on them and still can download the kindle app for your books. I just cant see paying that much for something that is just a e-book.
Ohhh, fellas. Now,COME on! A man can NOT march into the crapper with a rolled-up Kindle under his arm and then do the crossword while on the throne! It's a man's RIGHT to do the crossword on the throne!
iPad it is! While you can't roll it up, it also doesn't leave your fingers black when you go to wipe! :afro:
Kindle, get the cheapo one, you can buy a clip on light so you can read on the bog or in bed....the books are a lot cheaper from Amazon.
You PAY for e-books? I always get them for free There are tons out there, and more all the time. And the stories are all really interesting. That and web comics, web comics are pretty cool sometimes.. I am a fan of The Oatmeal.. Funny as hell lol...
Some of the latest novels are worth paying for, unfortunately i have a conscience and i would like to think people pay me for my work...:bobby:
I have an apple, and kind of...hate it. I wish I had gotten, anything android or flash based lol I think google is coming out with something soon.
And one day, we will be able to do that. But with ebooks having to go through both distributers and publishers, the pay is scant on E-books and authors will need to do what musicians and comedians (Louis, you did it right) are doing now. Doing it themselves and doing it better, without the middle men. Also, you don't end up owning the book when you buy an ebook. You own a license. That means you can't share it with anyone, like a book or :bobby: Or if a place like Amazon thinks you're not jiving with their TOS, they will yoink all of your licenses and you're left with nada. (I can't find the newstory I read about this, I'll keep looking) Kindles can be hacked to get around Amazon from taking back your shit, though.
Its the way of the world my friend, unfortunately we have to do as we are told otherwise we get our butts banged in prison, until enough people are like minded enough to start a revolution we have no choice but to conform...
hmm I would personally recommend the Kindle, the book version, not the Kindle Fire. The Kindle has what's called an "e-paper" screen which makes it much much better/easier to read, especially on the eyes. The Nook just feels like you're reading off of an iPad, with a blaring lcd display. The Kindle is much easier on the eyes.
NOOK is a brand of e-reader developed by American book retailer Barnes & Noble, based on the Android platform. so go or it
