the person sitting next to me in class had "Know Your Rank" in big letters on his shirt tonight. i just fascinated me to wonder why one would wear that shirt. when you think about it, it means nothing. one would say it teaches respect, but thats nonsense, it only creates confinement, and if anything prevents apathy. i think its just stupid.
who's to say its the correct place? knowing your place just comes automatically when one learns respect and logic. i think its just pretentious and pointless to accentuate something like this. the thinking supports a military-like thinking and like i said before, only confines people. what does everyone think are the ranks in life, wealth pretty much? well not knowing your place especially in this case can be quite "righteous".
ME, THAT'S WHO......And If You Have A Problem With That Young Man, Then May I Take This Opportunity To Invite You To Step Out Into The Parking Lot, And I'll Be More Than Happy To Show You Your Correct Place In Lifes Pecking Order.... Cheers Glen.
:svengo: Oh my, Glen is pulling rank!! Having come from a military home, I associate the term with that. Not so much a rank in life.
I tend to agree with this. It's one of those messages that everyone internalizes and deciphers at their own rate. When they come to some sort of conclusion it puts them in their place by their own accord.
Glen deserves respect just for being able to get so old and still having a sense of humour :wheelchair:

if you know the person then you probably know why he'd wear a shirt like that. i'd guess that the shirt is worn by one who sees himself as higher up the hierarchy tree than everyone else i.e. those who will read the shirt
