My beau and I find ourselves in a strange situation where we neither of us are bound to a geographic region, thus when he retires from the service in 5 years, the place we will down at will be a completely new location to both of us. He's throwing down some money to buy a house with a small amount of acreage where. He's been cruising the Internet for some time, and we think we may want to settle down in Knoxville.

Up until yesterday, TN was a place I only visited when I go to bonnaroo, and I had plans on keeping my visits to just that. After looking at Wikipedia and some craigslist ads, my mind is changing.

The beau will buy property this summer, however we won't be living on said propery for the next five years. I like the idea of Knoxville because it's big enough city for potential career choices without be overwhelmingly huge for this small town girl, land is relatively cheap and a plenty for horses, and the winters are relatively painless.

Of course, I've never actually visited Knoxville.

If you were able to start out all over again, where would you choose to live?

Haha I've been itching to leave paradise for about a year now myself, but I imagine living in the south for a few months may leave me longing for it once again.

Really? It seems like a good option. Supposedly I live in paradise and I feel as though it's a shithole. Hmmmm

If I was American, either Alaska or Montana.

I'm moving to China in September though.

I say things Frieden, but they're usually not so pessimistic.

Knoxville is a place where teens/people in their young twenties, or your standard run of the mill drug user frequent from small towns in east tennessee.

A lot of people go there to get x, acid, coke, bigger quantaties of weed. Pills are becoming a big problem in this region, so you will run into a lot of that and the crime that goes with it.

There is a lot of homelessness there, and not enough help for it. shitt. dude you really don't want to go live in Knoxville honestly.

you've got U.T. campus, and all that goes along with the whole college crowd. yes ut pride bullshit.

Some hookah bars, a few clubs, nothing too spectacular though.

There are certain parts of town you do NOT want to go too, really as most bigger cities.

    Knoxville shit... LOL.

    not a great place honestly.
